Kite Flying

Viewing Period: 10 Jan 22 to 12 Jan 22

This is Izumida Azami of Autumn Troupe.

Can’t believe the winter break’s already over.
It passed by in a flash.

A while back, Kumon went to visit their family home and came back with a kite, immediately wanting to take it out to fly. So I accompanied him.
2022-01-10 Azami Blog.png
He asked me to take a picture, so I made sure to take a good one when I could. Great timing too, ‘cause the next thing we knew the wind direction took a turn and it dropped dead to the ground. No way I could’ve taken a pic of that poor thing and put it up for the blog.

In any case, even though the wind changed around little by little, it wasn’t enough to make it fall again no matter how much we played with it.

Kumon went and told me to try flying the kite by myself too, and I guess it flew pretty okay, I think.

Speaking of, it was also the birthday of our reliable stagehand, Tetsuro-san, but I never really got to properly greet him upfront, even though he’s helped us with so much. I’m not sure when I’ll actually get to meet him again face-to-face, but I’m sure he’ll be reading the blog, so let me say it here:
Happy Birthday, Tetsuro-san.

There’s this park with a bunch of plum trees in it, and me and some others went to take a visit. I found it on
a route different from the one we take to go back home from the university. After mentioning it to the others,
we used our free day to take a closer look at the place.

There weren’t a lot of blossoms yet at the time I found the trees, so I couldn’t even tell what kind of trees were surrounding the park. But on the day we visited, there were flowers blooming everywhere.
Tsumugi-san said that it seems that we got to see them just at the right time of their blossoming season.

Some snow was still left around the plum trees from the snowfall the day before. Seems like this scenery is what people call “a blanket of snow”. When I first heard of it, I thought the phrase was related to cosmetics
or something. I never would’ve thought it was about landscapes. There’s still so much for me to learn.
As someone who is studying theatre, I need to really brush up on my vocabulary.

I brought a camera with me that day, so I took some pictures. I’ll post one of them here.
2022-02-06 Juza Blog.png
“I want to get a picture with a mood that matches the scenery,” is what Taichi said, so I gave it a go.
He was very happy about the result when I showed him this image. The photography lessons that I got from Omi-san must be paying off… I think I’ll get this photo printed and give to Taichi next time.

Like Nostalgic High School Days

Viewing Period: 11 Feb 22 to 13 Feb 22

Hello there.
This is Minagi Tsuzuru from Spring Troupe.

A few days ago, MANKAI Company went to Fukko High School and was asked to participate in a school event called the Setsubun Festival. Together with the school’s theatre club, the performance we did at the shrine was truly a memorable occasion that I will hold dear.

We made most of the preparations in Fukko High itself, and because of that I really felt like I was taken back to my high school days— I couldn’t help but feel excited.

Among those who participated in the performance were Citron-san, Miyoshi-san, Juza, Azami, and Takato-san. We spent so much time being in the same classroom together that I started wondering if this is what it would be like if we were classmates… Despite us being too old for high school now, of course.

Now writing something like this would make Miyoshi-san call me out and say “getting sentimental now, are we?” But I suppose I can let him slide with those kinds of comments, for the time being.

In any case, with the performance being a little different than usual, I hope everyone enjoyed it all regardless. We made the show open to the public, so if you were able to come to see our performance and had fun with it, then I’m glad.

Even if Setsubun has already long passed, I wish everyone good fortune in the coming days.

Until next time.

A Drama in an Airplane

Viewing Period: 15 Feb 22 to 17 Feb 22

Hello there. This is Autumn Troupe’s Fushimi Omi.

A while ago, we made a trip to see the night flights at the airport. I’ve noticed that it’s been getting warmer than it has been at late, and because of that. it did give me a lot of chances to be able to take pictures outside, so I’m grateful for it. With Spring just around the corner, it’d be nice if it does keep getting warmer from now on.

I did just mention we went to the airport, but it wasn’t to see someone off. Yuki and Muku had mentioned
watching a drama that was set in an airplane. It seems like it was a rerun, too. I only got to see the last episode,
but when I told Taichi about it, he lent me a DVD of it that he owns.
And now I got to watch the whole thing from start to finish.

The premise of the drama involved a hijacking, and from there the development gets really tense.
I know I don’t even get that many chances to ride planes, but…

I really started thinking about what I would do in that situation, or what would be the most right thing to do if that kind of development were to happen while I’m in the middle of my flight. But thanks to the drama, it did help me learn more about the people who work behind the airline work. I’m glad I got to watch it.
If you are all interested, please do check it out too.

Although it has been getting warmer, the mornings and evenings are still pretty cold.
Everyone, please make sure to take care of yourselves by keeping warm and sleeping lots.

Viewing Period: 1 Mar 22 to 3 Mar 22

Mikage Hisoka. Winter Troupe.

The warmer days are becoming more frequent, which means it’s becoming the perfect season for afternoon naps.

A while ago, Muku and Taichi have been sending pictures of cherry blossom buds thru LIME. Everyone was thinking exactly the same thing: “So, spring has finally come.”

Sakyo has also mentioned that eggs are cheaper these days, so after he bought a whole bunch of them, we’ve been having egg dishes every day since. Tsumugi is ecstatic about it, but I think it’s starting to be a bit too much.

It seems that the pricing is all because Easter is next month, and because of that, it’s best to take advantage of the current market. At least, that’s what Omi says. And if he’s the one saying it, it must be true.

After I told him I was getting tired of all the egg dishes we’ve been having, Omi said that he’ll try to come up with some dessert to use the eggs on instead. Particularly one with marshmallows, since I requested it.

I’m kinda looking forward to tonight’s dinner now.

Happy Easter!

Viewing Period: 11 Mar 22 to 13 Mar 22

Good day, everyone!
This is Sakisaka Muku of Summer Troupe.

Recently, there have been even more cherry blossoms trees that have started to bloom around the path we take to and from school and back home. I keep wondering when they’ll become fully bloomed, so every day when I go home, I get a little excited to see the growth every time.

A change of topic, but, a while back, there was this “Happy Easter Event” that was held in this large park at the next town over, and MANKAI Company was let to participate in it.

Since it is themed after Easter, just as you’d expect, we performed in a lot of events where we had to use easter eggs and be involved with the little rabbits. So even though I was the leader for the occasion among us members, I ended up getting the most out of it from being surrounded by all the cute rabbits!

Of course, I was also really glad that we were able to do our stage performance without any hitches. I wouldn’t have done it without everyone with me. To all of my friends who stood by me on stage, to the people who were involved behind the scenes, and most of all, to everyone who came by to watch us, thank you so so much for giving your support! I’m thankful to each and every one of you!

Actually, now that I think about it, the staff told us about how the cherry blossoms in the same park of the event are especially pretty when the trees are in full bloom. It’d be really nice to come to visit the area again when it’s blooming season again.

That’s all from me. Thank you so much for reading till the end!

A Blissful Day!

Viewing Period: 16 Mar 22 to 18 Mar 22

Hyodo Kumon of Summer Troupe here!

Y’know, yesterday I just lazed around so much all day watching a bunch of videos~
Having this much free time is nothing but bliss, don’t you think!?

I used to like watching stuff like documentaries of retired baseball stars, or recordings of live matches, y’know, that sort of stuff. But then I was recommended a video of this kid skateboarding and doing tricks!
Not only was the video cute, but the kid was so good that my eyes were glued the whole time.

When it comes to skateboarding, no one other than Taichi-san fits the bill!
I often see Taichi-san skate around downtown before, and I always thought he looked super cool riding so dashingly on his board!

I’ve been hearing that Sakuya-san and Hisoka-san have been going out with Taichi-san to practice skateboarding together in the park. I wonder if I’ll get my own chance to try it out as well~
Do you think if I asked Taichi-san he’ll be open to teaching me? Oh, but first, I gotta get myself a good skateboard!

By the way, we have plans to go play some field baseball today!
I’ve been joining in more often these days (^ ^)v
If tomorrow ends up being a free day too, I’ll try to put in more exercise next time!

See you guys again later!

The Changing of Seasons

Viewing Period: 25 Mar 22 to 27 Mar 22

This is Yukishiro Azuma of the Winter Troupe.

As March rolled in with warmer weather, the days have also become a lot more comfortable. I hope everyone has been making preparations for their own flower-viewing plans.

With the changing of seasons, our very own Guy would start getting into his professional mode and ask everyone in the troupe about their opinions as he comes up with the seasonal menu for the bar he manages. It’s a sight that I’ve been seeing from him a lot recently.
That being said, the other day, he let a number of us members help him out by sampling the food and drinks from his spring seasonal menu. I was often personally assigned to be the one to sample the drinks.

On that day, in particular, I was allowed to try this cherry blossom-inspired cocktail.
2022-03-25 Azuma Blog.png
The colors certainly do seem fitting, and what a cute color on a cocktail it is. It was accented with salt-picked cherry blossoms and turned out quite delicious indeed.

The picture I took at the time didn’t turn out well because of the bar’s dim lighting, so Omi took this picture for me instead. The ones who were in charge of sampling the desserts on the same day were Omi, Juza, and Hisoka. The three of them gave their feedback, but still, Guy seemed to have happily accepted them. “It seems that I should make them a bit sweeter,” he said.

It appears that this limited-time menu has already been made available in the bar, so I’m considering having this cocktail again when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

Perhaps this sounds like an advertisement for Guy’s shop, but I would consider the place to already be a part of the troupe’s everyday life by now, so I think it’s alright to have a blog post like this every now and then.

I’ll see you all again soon.

Winter Troupe. Yukishiro Azuma.

Viewing Period: 28 Mar 22 to 30 Mar 22

Hey! It’s Nanao Taichi from Autumn Troupe!

Before anything else, I’d like to say.…
OKINAWA WAS SUPER FUUUUUUN———!!!!!

I’ve just gotten back from the trip and been putting away my luggage as I write this blog, but…! Really though,
I was like “Aww man we’re really back home…” I miss it so much already. (;_;)
Next time I get the chance I’m hopping immediately to the first flight back there again!

I absolutely love skateboarding, and knowing that I was able to set foot on the birthplace of the skateboard culture, even now it all still feels like a fever dream to me!

Kyu-chan was just starting out himself, and everyone else who acted along with me were pretty inexperienced with the skateboard, but we all did our best to practice together for the sake of the play this time. Though we ran into a lot of troubles on our own, not only was it fun, but we managed to wrap it up without anyone getting hurt, and that’s what counts!

Thank you so much again to everyone who went out of their way to watch us perform! I’m so so glad I was able to show off the fun of skateboarding to everyone (>_<)

Anyway! I really hope I get to fly to Okinawa again soon! There’s obviously stuff like sightseeing and food trips that
I wanna do, but most of all, it’s because there are guys there that I want to become friends with! (^^)

Well then! Let’s all see each other for the next performance, yeah?(≧▽≦)

Greetings from the Freshmen Representative

Viewing Period: 01 Apr 22

As the warm spring sunshine and charming cherry blossoms begin to bloom on this fine day, we enter the grounds of MANKAI Wizardry School with great expectations.

Though we are only 2 students representing the Class of 99.5 of this school, we were met with a wonderful ceremony that was dedicated just for the two of us. Once again, we are thankful for the welcome.

We were so touched by the kindness that was shown by our professors and upperclassmen yesterday that it has made us feel motivated for our upcoming magic studies in our school. Though 7 years may seem like a long time for student life, it’s certain that by the time we get there, all those years will feel as if they went by in a flash.

We may be inexperienced as of now, but we hope to follow in the footsteps of our upperclassmen in order to become wizards as splendid as we can be. We aim to work our hardest on our magical studies so that we may spend each of our days without any regret.

And finally, may the days that we spend in this school become a memorable story for each of the students to take with them for the rest of their lives.

Shopping

Viewing Period: 2 Apr 22 to 5 Apr 22

Rurikawa Yuki. Summer Troupe.

Now that it’s officially spring, it seems like it’s gotten really warm recently.
Just a while ago, Kumon and I were bringing in the dry laundry together. “You can actually smell the sun even more than usual this time!”, he said. It’s really something that he would say, but I guess I can’t argue how nice it feels to have the clothes be bathed in the sunlight.

Speaking of clothes, I also went shopping with Azu-nee a few days ago. We bought a lot of spring wear, though Azu-nee went and bought me a skirt he had chosen just for me. It did pique my interest too since it had some cute vivid colors to it.

Oh, and also, right after shopping, we stopped by the bookstore. There was this one book about Western-style tailoring that I was searching for the other time, and I finally found it.

I only bought one book for now, but there were actually a whole collection of books that featured all kinds of dressmaking from foreign countries. Honestly, I wanted to buy the rest of them, too. I think I will plan on collecting them one by one, but considering how curious I am about the rest, I‘m just itching to read them even sooner.

That being said, I might just end up buying all of them in a binge next time.

Cherry Blossoms

Viewing Period: 6 Apr 22 to 8 Apr 22

Since it’s been warmer these days, I’ve finally been able to do my morning jogs for a lot longer again. Today, I was running together with Sakisaka when we saw cherry blossoms along the way.

Speaking of cherry blossoms, the whole MANKAI troupe went to go cherry blossom viewing a while back. Though, after that, a few of us went to see them again later on. I went to grab some drinks from nearby, and everyone was chatting by the cherry blossom trees. Right then and there, a few cats showed up. Was it because Ikaruga and Mikage were here as well…?

When I went to look around, I found this picture.
I wasn’t sure who took it, but judging by the quality of photography, it must’ve been Fushimi.
2022-04-06 Tasuku Blog.png
There were some cats who were playing around in the trees. Others were lying around where Usui was also napping.

You may look at this photo and think we made off with a peaceful viewing party, but when you have Arisugawa spouting out poems from his sudden inspirations and Citron dancing along to it, it’s as rowdy as it can be.

As for me, I chatted with Sakyo-san and the Director about our recent reading materials that day. It’s interesting to see how different our viewpoints and opinions were on the same subject of works. I ended up being more absorbed in our conversation than I was in the flowering trees around us.

Tsukioka Tsumugi Motif.png
Veludo Library

Viewing Period: 11 Apr 22 to 13 Apr 22

Good day. This is Tsukioka Tsumugi from Winter Troupe.

It seems that the spring flowers in the courtyard’s flowerbed have started to bloom quite recently. I wanted to take a picture to show you all, but I’m afraid all of the shots I took were too blurry to be of any good….. I’ll try to work on it for next time, and I’ll be sure to upload it on Inste once I do.

With the arrival of Spring, I have a new announcement to make. As it’s been announced previously, we’ve been invited to be featured for the next issue of the local magazine “VELUDO” once again, and this time the members who were chosen for the cover were me and Yuki-kun from Summer Troupe. The photos that were taken turned out really wonderful, so I do hope that you’ll look forward to our appearance on the cover.

In addition to that, the special feature for the issue will be about the antique book fair that was held in the Veludo Library. We even took part in helping out the staff for the event. There will be more of it covered in the magazine’s publication, but here’s a little inside story that I can talk about:

As we were arranging the books together, Sakuya-kun from the Spring Troupe was approached by this sweet old man. Once they finished their conversation, Sakuya-kun came up and told me that the old man narrated to him the summary of a very memorable book of his that happened to be left at the antique book fair.

After that, he told me that he plans to read this book soon when he can. It made me think that this must be how the stories of old books get passed down from generation to generation.

Do you have a memorable book that you hold dear? If you do, then I’d love to hear what everyone’s answers are.

Chaos Karaoke

Viewing Period: 16 Apr 22 to 18 Apr 22

Settsu Banri. Autumn Troupe.

A while back, I was invited by Citron for a karaoke session. Citron had invited the usual guys, which would include Tenma and Taichi, but in a rare case, this time he also brought along Guy-san.

Seeing this kind of lineup, you’d think Guy-san is a very fresh addition, right? But really it felt as if Guy-san was dragged here entirely by Citron’s will. As usual though he sang a song that sounded like it was sutra more than anything. But hey, he was still pretty good at it.

Anyway, the karaoke itself was pretty much the usual chaos. Even though we still got our rehearsals for the live event, I never really ever get tired of it.

That being said, I hope that everyone that’s attending the next live will look forward to it. We’ll make sure that it’ll be one hell of a time.

Oh, I just remembered. On our way back from the karaoke, we bumped into Masumi. Since it was such a chance encounter, Taichi thought of commemorating the moment with a picture. He should be posting it on Inste sooner or later. (Even though Masumi had looked like he didn’t wanna be there…)
Any of you who are interested to see that should check it out.

 That’s it for now. Laters.

Viewing Period: 21 Apr 22 to 23 Apr 22

Autumn Troupe, Furuichi Sakyo.

Several days ago, the museum that we had previously had the pleasure to work with in the past had sent us some admission tickets, so a few members including myself went to take a visit.

The exhibits that they had up at the time were all unique and interesting, but the guys all seemed to find the outdoor dinosaur displays to be the most exciting for them. It seems that we could even take photographs there; according to Miyoshi, the place itself was a very “Inste-blammable Spot”.

Among those displays, those guys spent about 20 minutes in the same place just taking pictures at the photo spot where you could get inside the dinosaur’s mouth.
2022-04-21 Sakyo Blog.png
Miyoshi said that it’d be easier to understand if I posted a picture, so I just attached the one I got from him.
… I suppose it does look believable enough to look like you’re getting eaten when it’s like this.

The museum offers different programs that change every few months, so if you ever get the chance to visit them, please do take a look at them.

Spring Troupe. Usui Masumi.

The live event has wrapped up.

During the practice period, I was hit with a lot of bad luck that I wasn’t sure how things will end up.
But thankfully, it seems like the show itself went off without any problems.

The glow from all the lightsticks was a beautiful sight that I could never get tired of. I think such a scene could only be possible on the stage of a live event. It was all very different from the performances I’m used to, but I guess it’s not so bad to have this kind of thing once in a while.

All of my feelings were poured into the songs.
And all of them will surely get through. Because I believe so.

Everyone’s Travel Plans

Viewing Period: 01 May 22 to 03 May 22

This is Yukishiro Azuma of Winter Troupe.
The climate has become completely warm now, making it the perfect time to for outings.
Are you all planning to go somewhere for your holidays?

Even in the dormitories, we have a lively bunch who are making their own traveling plans. Some time ago, the Summer Troupe had talked about it together, and before we knew it they were all making their own little presentation conference about all the tourist attractions they want to visit one day.
And with Kazunari with us, I’m certain he’ll make us a guidebook as well.
Is there any place that everyone wants to go to, perhaps?
If you ever share your photos on Inste, I’ll be very much anticipating them.

In addition to that, there’s been much talk within the dorm about Indian films.
It seems that it’s gotten quite a popularity boom in some places ever since they’ve been made available thru streaming, so they’ve been pulling out the dorm’s projector to watch.
They’ve all been saying how they want to visit the actual places in India, too. It seems like if we ever get the chance to fly abroad again, then India is a very likely candidate for our destination.

Do you suppose that if I write it out on the blog like this, our wishes might just come true, just like last time?
… Or so I’d like to believe. Still, it’d be nice to travel together with the whole troupe.

What do you think would be a good place to go to?
I’d love to hear what sort of locations you’ve been to and the memories you made in everyone’s past outings as well.

I’ll see you all again later.

Winter Troupe. Yukishiro Azuma.

ENJOY GW☆

Viewing Period: 07 May 22 to 09 May 22

EYOOO☆ Summer Troupe’s Miyoshi Kazunari here♪

Did y’all have a great GW~?
Bet some of you even got 10 days of holidays! I’m so jealous~! Though I did use up all my free days with the most fun that I can have with everyone here! It was super fulfilling!

I got to hang out with Settsuar a while back, and we happened to catch this Children’s Day event on the same day! There was a boatful of carp streamers swimming through the sky~ It reminds me of the time when Sumi, Tenten, and I made some colorful carp streamers of our own— ones with triangular scales! I took a pic of those carp streamers before and uploaded them on Inste, so if there’s any curious folk out there, you know where to look♪

Back to the main topic!
I’ve memorialized my time with Settsuar here in the form of this photo☆
2022-05-07 Kazunari Blog.png
See the carp streamers behind us? Aren’t they just amazing?! (*'▽'*)

We got these drinks in our hands from a cafe nearby♪ Settsuar’s may seem like it’s got a lot of cream that’s too sweet, but the matcha coffee itself is quite bitter, so the whole thing’s actually not that sweet at all! As for mine,
it’s got just the right sweetness that can’t be beat~!

Oop, now that I think about it…
Did I also talk about going to a cafe with Settsuar in a previous blog too?!
Well no biggie☆ Just shows how close we are(*ゝω ∂)

GTG soon, so this concludes Kazunari Miyoshi’s great GW remembrance Blog!
TTYL guys~

The Power of Stories

Viewing Period: 15 May 22 to 17 May 22

This is Sakuma Sakuya from Spring Troupe!
Thank you again for always supporting us!

Every now and then, the kids from the place I work part-time would ask me to do storytelling for them.
Everyone gets so earnest in listening that I get just a teeny bit nervous sometimes…!
But the kids always look forward to this activity of the day, so as much as I can, I do my best in reading the stories out loud to them.

Today, a sudden quarrel happened between a couple of kids. It seemed like the two of them couldn’t agree on something, and even they looked really sad because of it… We were worried about them, of course, but as we got into the storytelling session of the day, the two kids somehow ended up forgetting all about the fight they had together as the both of them got really invested in the story. The power of storytelling is truly something else!

It seems like the two of them haven’t completely made up yet by the end of that, though, so I’ve been wondering what I could do to help them out… Even now, I’m still trying to think up of an idea.

I think that everyone here also experiences their own difficulties and hardships every day. But if somehow, whenever you come to the theatre to watch our plays, I hope that we would be able to help you forget about those difficulties, even for a short while. I will do my very best for the next performance as well so that I can deliver to you all another wonderful play with those sentiments in mind!

With that said, please do look forward to the next update!

May is already almost done. The rainy season coming soon, too. Does everyone have their own pretty umbrellas ready for the season~? I’ve got my own triangle umbrella ready~△

Speaking of, the Summer troupe went to the park the other day. The weather was really nice, so we decided to pack some packed lunch and have a picnic there~

Yuki and Muku made the side dishes, while I brought plenty of onigiri △
Kazu packed it all nicely and tightly into our lunch boxes, then Tenma and Kumon prepared our drinks…
Just doing the preparations with everyone was lots of fun~!

Yuki said there were loooooots of white clovers blooming at the park, so everyone went to make some flower crowns after hearing that. While we were doing that, Kumon found a four-leaf clover!

Kazu took a photo of that moment~
2022-05-20 Misumi Blog.png
Amazing, right~
The Kumon in this photo looks super happy, and that also makes me happy.

Kumon said he wants to try making a pressed flower out of the four-lead clover, like how Tsumugi taught him~
I wonder if I should also try to make pressed flowers with triangle clovers next time△
When I do, I’ll be sure to upload it onto Inste, so please wait for that, everyone!

Rain.

Viewing Period: 03 Jun 22 to 05 Jun 22

Autumn Troupe’s Izumida Azami here.

With all this humidity that comes with the rainy season, it’s more prone to get more troublesome skin problems now. Soon enough, I have to remind those guys about wearing sunscreen, but with all this rain, there’s bound to be some who aren’t going to pay that much mind to it. Even when there’s rain throughout this time of year, the UV rays have gotten stronger, so it’s best that everyone takes care with that in mind.

A few days back, the soccer club was doing its usual activities, but we had to stop midway as the rain came down. This is probably gonna keep happening for another month or so from now on, huh. Either way, it couldn’t be helped, so we went to the nearest store and ate while we were at it.

There, Omi-san talked about the upcoming wedding photoshoot he took pictures for. He showed us what the recent trends for photoshoots were these days, and they were a lot more amazing than I expected to see.

I’ve been taking a short-term course on hair and makeup recently, and thanks to a recent acquaintance’s marriage ceremony, I’ve gotten interested in studying bridal hair and makeup too. The pictures that Omi-san showed us made to be good references.

The rain may be terrible for the skin, but sometimes, they’re probably not so bad after all.

And thus begins the rainy season.
It is the season when the greenery thrives, and as the landscape colors shift to a fresher hue,
the shine on the raindrops that are left on vibrant leaves is a sight to behold indeed.

This sentiment came to me from one certain photograph.

With the rain, that person’s expression, and the aura that filled the picture—
I could say that all of it was nothing short of beautiful.

What ever could be on this person’s mind at that moment?
What ever could be concealed behind those eyes of his?

Surely, there must’ve been something that came and stirred his heart.
It made me curious myself, and so I took it in me to go… ask the person himself about it.

And his answer was merely this:

“I don’t remember.”

Now then, I shall leave you all with the very photograph that moved me so. I was granted permission to post
from the photographer, Kazunari-kun, and of course, the person himself.

Should there ever be more portraits like these that could take my breath away again, I shall definitely show them

Thank you again for always supporting us!

A few days ago, we got to perform a play at a wedding venue for its opening ceremony! The venue itself was hosted by the sea, and no matter what time of day it was, the view from the location was so breathtaking!
It was a really amazing place.

The opening ceremony was to open up this event called “Bridegroom Battle Royale”, and we actually were able to participate in the event itself! I think some of you may have probably remembered Taichi-kun posting a blog about a similar event not too long ago. In this event, the participants were given different challenges to clear, and each challenge was something in-line with what’s considered to be one’s bridegroom potential. And so, we all practiced lots with different domestic chores and the like for the sake of the event!

Actually, Haruto-san and Shift-kun from GODza also participated in the event. Not only did we get to chat, but we were able to see a few sides of them that we didn’t get to see before. It was lots of fun!
(Of course, I made sure to get their permission to mention their names for this blog as well!)

Most of all, I’m incredibly grateful for being titled this year’s winner of the event. I was so flattered to be able to win at all! But I personally believe that it was very much thanks to all the teachings I got from Misumi-san, Omi-san, and Tsuzuru-kun, as well as everyone’s support that I made it. In a way, I think this makes everyone a winner!

Lastly, there was this photo of everyone in their tuxedo suits that Banri-kun uploaded onto Inste.
It’s a bit embarrassing for me, but if there’s anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, please do check it out!

With that, please do look forward to the next blog update!

Ten-chan and Juza-san were really in their game that day. They were just doing strikes and spares left & right
like it was nothing!

Tsuzuru-kun said he doesn’t really nail a strike that often, but when he got to score one that day,
he was crazy pleased with himself! (≧▽≦)
I got to capture that very moment, so lemme upload it here☆

Today is July 7th. That means it’s Tanabata day.
Because of that, a bunch of us wore our yukatas and drove out in Tasuku’s car to celebrate the Star Festival.

As most of you have already known, there was also this play that some of the guys, including Tasuku and Muku, helped out with during a previous Star Festival. It was basically a big Tanabata festival, now that I think about it.
Even though it played out like any normal festival, there were a lot of tanzaku and other Tanabata decorations, so you can really feel the Tanabata mood with all of that.

The Star Festival also had its own line-up of food stalls. Kumon and Citron got curious about them, so we went to look through them. Lo and behold, Sakyo was there tending to a takoyaki stall.
2022-07-07 Yuki Blog.png
It’s not often you really see this guy lending a hand in festival food stalls, huh?

I overheard from the people lining up that the takoyaki Sakyo was serving was pretty popular.
Of course, we had to buy some to see for ourselves, and it really was just as good as they said.

After going thru the stalls, we went to see the stage performances for this year’s Tanabata live. Then right before going home, we also wrote our wishes on some tanzaku. Good luck asking for my wish, because it’s a secret.

Speaking of which, I was told to write something here since it’ll be my birthday tomorrow, but it feels sorta weird to say something myself when it’s not even the actual day of my birthday yet. Though… I guess I may as well let you all know anyway, shouldn’t I?

Thank you very much everyone for always supporting me. Even if it’s just for tomorrow if you could celebrate and look back on me and my costumes, I’d really appreciate that. Please continue to cheer me on from now on as well.

The summer heat has finally caught on, huh?
You can expect us from Summer Troupe to be totally into the season of our own name… is what I’d like to say.
But when it’s this hot, even we can’t keep up with it.

My schedule’s been really packed with nothing but film shooting for dramas lately. The make-up artist on our set would lend me a handheld fan when we’re on standby too. The thing’s actually pretty useful for cooling down.

I’d often see people using these handheld fans while walking through town, but according to the make-up artist, the most popular kinds have already gone out of stock.
Now that I think about it, I saw Yuki carrying one that was built with ears on it. He’d carry it with him every day.
The thought of me holding something like that though is… probably not the most fitting image.

In any case, I feel grateful to have a lot of work these days, but I heard that the rest of Summer Troupe have their schedules just as packed. Kazunari said he’d been busy working on a painting to show off at an exhibition, and then Misumi is… Well, actually, it’d probably be better if you hear about it from the guy himself. Good day. This is Tsukioka Tsumugi from Winter Troupe.

As we get into August, it truly feels like summer has really started.
Have any of you been experiencing summer heat fatigue? Please do take care and watch your water and salt intake for the sake of your body. I’ve been careful to watch my own, too.

As for MANKAI Company, summer break has already started for the students, so it’s been quite lively within the dorms even on the weekdays. Every day is filled with activities— whether it’s going out to play, doing homework, or going back to family homes. Everyone seems to be enjoying their summer break.

Even the working members have been getting excited while talking about what sort of things they could do for summer break.

Recently, camping has been such a popular activity that there have been programs being featured
on television as well. I’ve actually been watching them with Citron-kun from Spring Troupe, along with Muku-kun from Summer Troupe.

I learned this from watching the camping program, but it seems that there are places where you can
rent out camping cars. Even I thought about wanting to ride one at least once.

Has anyone here ever ridden in a camping car before? If you have, please do tell me about it. What did you feel from riding one? And what sort of activities would you recommend to pass the time in the car?
I’d love to hear your thoughts.

and search for them from there.

A few days ago, we all went to the summer festival in the neighboring town over! We enjoyed drinking ramune and had lots of yakisoba and grilled squid while we were there. Hisoka-san ate some really fluffy cotton candy as well.

Soon after that, there was a competition between who could knock over the most prizes in the target shooting stall… The ones who got a lot of hits were Hisoka-san, Chikage-san, and Director-san— they were totally cool…!

Although, because the prizes were so heavy, he didn’t really get to knock down any of them…But after much trial and error, he finally got a hit! The way he looked at that time was so admirably cool…!

As for myself, I got to knock down a chocolate prize!
I love chocolate after all, so that much was enough to make me happy ♪

Summer had just started, so I’m sure there’ll be more festivals and firework events from now on too… Of course, there are a lot of other summer-related things to look forward to~ That’s what I hope so anyway (*^v^*)

Hello there. This is Chigasaki Itaru from Spring Troupe.

A while back, I went to a coffee house that Citron had found out about before. The place just oozes classical vibes, which is fitting for the calming traditional coffee house that it was.

What surprised me is that it even had a piano and all other kinds of instruments there too.
There were apparently regulars who would come to play the instruments as well. It’s really not often that you get to experience drinking coffee while listening to a live performance in a coffee house.

There weren’t any of those regulars that could perform for us on the day we visited but as the master of the house quickly warmed up to Citron, he got his permission to play the violin there.

2022-09-07 Itaru Blog.jpg

The piece that Citron played was the one that he played from “Harugoaka Quartet”. I wonder if there are others here who could remember what the piece was. Of course, as for Spring Troupe, it was a piece that holds precious memories for us… Just listening to the melody again takes me back to the memories of the performance.

Speaking of, since the shop’s specialty was in their delicious coffee, I thought about inviting those two crazy coffee lovers as well, but it seems that they had other plans already scheduled.
Citron mentioned that he wanted to take those two out to the same place when they get the chance, so they’ll probably bring it up in a future blog or Inste update.

This Month’s Recommendations

Viewing Period: 18 Sept 22 to 20 Sept 22

I’ve been into this custom playlist that me and some of the music buffs within the troupe made together on this subscription-based music app.

Azami’s recommendations were the easiest to recognize were his.
It had basically lots of hip-hop, but there were some hard rock and chill genres mixed into his list too. They’re all pretty easy to listen to.

Masumi knows tons of artists, but his list was filled with so much love songs that I can’t really listen to them without feeling sus by the choices. Still, the songs also came with instrumentals, and those ones are pretty good to
vibe to as work BGM.

Citron’s list is pretty interesting.
I don’t really get them, but I know there’s this sort of unusualness and addictive melody[1] to the songs. There are plenty of songs from Zahran artists too, and these had this sort of orchestral and unique mood to them that I find pretty fun to listen to.

‘Course, I also made my own playlist, but a lot of the songs overlapped with Taichi’s as well.
I knew that we shared some favorites in terms of bands, so it’s no surprise, but we actually do listen to the same kind of music. Our tastes really matched so much that his playlist is probably the one that I listen to the most.

Oh yeah, Taichi and I went to the karaoke today. Not just to sing, but we had a certain goal in mind.
I can’t say anything about it yet, so you’ll find out the news about it soon enough, so just wait ‘til then. It’s pretty related to Autumn Troupe’s next performance, so you can look forward to that too.

In any case, we’ll be sure to give you the new performance you’ve all been waiting for, so you all getter come to the theatre to see it.

See you then.

The band practices were so fun too~ We would confine ourselves in the studio to get our concentration going! And whenever I was having trouble writing for the song, I’d get a change of pace by playing Ultra yo-yo with Ban-chan!! Our trick matches were also lots of fun (^^)v

Whenever we would get everyone’s instruments to sync in together with the song, I could almost feel that same excitement that I would feel whenever we would also sync with each other in our acting… Somehow, it really gave me a taste of what it’s like to experience a real band member’s youth! I’m so glad this was the last great challenge as I, Nanao Taichi, say goodbye to my teenage years!

Now, this is gonna a personal bit from me, but…! Back in my elementary days, I wrote myself a letter that was meant for my 20-year-old self. I wondered back then
if that letter would even reach to me again, and then suddenly I remembered about it again just yesterday! I had started thinking that I should write
something to my 30-year-old self too, so even though this is pretty embarrassing to just lay it out to everyone here, I figured I would commemorate this performance by writing it here!

★ ☆ ★

To the 30-year-old Nanao Taichi,

I wonder what you’re doing at 30 years old now!
The 19-year-old me has been thinking about all sorts of things regarding my own future, and how I’m now able to face things more head-on than my past self could ever have. There’s also been moments where I realized that I’m using words that I never did in the past, and because that’s how I am now, I was able to write song lyrics in a way that even surprised myself! I’ve started to really get the feeling of what things would probably change, and what things I hope won’t ever change.

Once you’re 30, I’m sure there are lots of things that have changed as well. But if possible, I hope that you’ll remain to be the same red-haired Nanao Taichi.
And if not, I hope you’ll never lose sight of who you really want to be, in a way that remains to be the same Nanao Taichi of MANKAI COMPANY.

And before I forget!
I hope you’ll be someone who continues to look up to both Juza-san and Sakyo-nii as you’ve always had, who listens to A-chan’s advice and turn to have smooth skin,
who laughs while playing yo-yo and going karaoke with Ban-chan… And on the night of your 30th birthday, as proof of the wonderful day you had, I hope you’ll put a yellow sticker on that day together with Omi-kun, too.

I wish you luck on the path you’ve chosen! Do your very best!

From your 19-year-old self.

★ ☆ ★

That’s it! Hoh boy, somehow that made me all nervous…
How about you guys? Why don’t you all try writing out a letter to yourself for a future milestone too? (≧▽≦)
It might even turn out to be something you'll treasure for all you know!

With all that, I’ve been keeping you guys here for long enough, so I guess I gotta wrap it up now.
Thank you so so sooooo much again to everyone who came to watch and support our performance…!!!

Secondhand Clothing Store

Viewing Period: 03 Oct 22 to 05 Oct 22

It’s Rurikawa Yuki from Summer Troupe.

I went to this secondhand clothing store with Banri the other day.
I told him that there was a new shop that I was curious about, but since it was a pretty long ways away, he drove us there.

The place was lined up with so many of these cute items that had these deep colors of autumn.
I ended up buying a lot more unexpected stuff when I realized it, but they were all pretty
satisfying purchases all in all.
After all, it’s starting to be that time of the year when you get to dress up in layers, right?

I was especially drawn to this particular pair of gold earrings. It was being sold for a good bargain, though the design itself felt very antique. It might suit well as an accent with autumn wear.

BTW, I mentioned this store was a secondhand clothing store, but it also had a corner of miscellaneous items where they set up some retro toys and other stuff, including some tin dolls.
The lineup itself was practically filled up so I thought they were pretty cute altogether.
I went to the store just for the clothes then, but maybe I could go for the miscellaneous items
as my main goal for next time. Looks like I’m gonna have to ask Banri to drive me there again
when that time comes.

Autumn Hot Springs

Viewing Period: 06 Oct 22 to 08 Oct 22

Greetings. It’s Fushimi Omi from Autumn Troupe.

For the first time in a while, we took a trip to the hot springs a while ago. Actually, I made a promise to Taichi that we’d take the trip back in the summer, but our schedules couldn’t seem to work out. But we finally got to go this time.

It’s been some time since we made that promise but…
With the autumn colors surrounding the place, we started to really enjoy the scenery too. It made it feel like it was actually worth the wait that we came at this season.

We took so much of our time watching the autumn leaves as we bathed in the hot springs that by the end of it, the fatigue faded away and it left us pretty refreshed.

We took a lot of photos since I brought my camera with me. I thought about putting up a photo of Taichi from among the bunch, but when I told Taichi about it, he told me there was one photo he really wanted to have me post instead.
So I decided to put up that photo as asked…
File:2022-10-08 Omi Blog.jpg
Posting a photo of myself is a little bit embarrassing…
But looking at it, I think this is a pretty well-shot picture. It’s not just Tsuzuru and Juza— it seems that even Taichi has been improving his photography skills.

I suppose I’ll have to show off the photos I took at another time instead when I get the chance.
Please look forward to it until then.

Retro Items

Viewing Period: 16 Oct 22 to 18 Oct 22

This is Utsuki Chikage of Spring Troupe.

A few days ago, I went to a records shop together with Guy-san. I had heard that the shop itself was relatively small and almost obscure, however, they did have quite a large variety of records displayed there. Guy-san said he’s been coming over there often ever since he found out about it.
Even Masumi would sometimes tag along with him, or so I think he said.

It seems that retro items have been a recent trend around here, which also apparently got more customers buying records from them too.
Perhaps it’s because of this trend that even modern songs today have vinyl records as well. Even from within the dorm, most especially the students, have been hearing a lot about how there are places that you can visit where you can be surrounded by all things retro.

I’m certain the video was uploaded to the MANKAI Channel some time ago, but I got to experience something that I think people would feel nostalgic over when they see it. If there are those who haven’t viewed it yet, please watch it when you have some time to spare.

The temperature has gotten colder since autumn came around. There are probably people out there whose bodies can’t adjust that well to the seasons changing, so I advise that those people should take it easy and rest when they can.

‘Till we meet again at the theatre then.

Caramel Apples

Viewing Period: 19 Oct 22 to 21 Oct 22

From Summer Troupe, this is Sumeragi Tenma.

I’ve been really busy with film shooting schedules that it’s only recently that I realized that the downtown area has been decorated with all sorts of Halloween decorations and colors. Seeing all of that also makes me feel that October is coming to an end soon enough.

Speaking of Halloween, the dorm was filled with a strong sweet smell when I came home the other day. Wondering what was going on, I found out that Citron had brought home a whole bunch of apples home. Everyone in the dorm had made caramel apples out of them.

Kazunari had been taking pics of the whole occasion, so I asked him to send me a few photos if he could. There were a lot of pictures of different kinds of decorations, but since Halloween is coming up, I figured I’d post something that’s Halloween-related.
2022-10-21 Tenma Blog.jpg
Apparently, these caramel apples were made by Sakuya and Muku. It must’ve been difficult to shape them to look like faces, but they look pretty well done to me.
I took a bite of the left one from this photo, and I have to say, the sweetness of the caramel suits well with the apple’s sourness. It was quite tasty.

When I asked Omi-san if these were easy to make, he said that they would be even if you were to use just commercial caramels… If you’re curious yourself about how to make them after you read this, you should go ahead and try it.

Thanks for reading ‘'til the end.

From Autumn into Winter

Viewing Period: 05 Nov 22 to 07 Nov 22

Hello there.
This is Minagi Tsuzuru of Spring Troupe.

It’s already November, huh?
It’s that time of the year when autumn changes into winter, so now it’s started to get colder bit by bit these days.
Hard to believe the year is going to be over already in just two months….. I can’t be the only one who feels this way, right?

In other news, some days ago, I heard this jingle about stone-baked potatoes from the dorms. The guys started talking about wanting to eat some sweet potatoes, so Juza and I went to buy some for everyone.
We headed toward the direction of where we thought the song was coming from, but we couldn’t immediately find the sweet potato truck. It took us a while searching around for it before we finally found the truck.

Going around got us pretty starving, so after we bought everyone’s helping of sweet potatoes, we figured we’d treat ourselves and eat our share right ahead as we walk back home.

I’ll also share a photo that I took from that time.
2022-11-05 Tsuzuru Blog.jpg
I captured the moment right as Juza was about to take his bite. The sweet potatoes the truck had were really warm and sweet,
so they ended up being pretty good. I thought to show how much we enjoyed the food through the photo, too.
Hopefully, you can tell just from this.

Despite the cold, having a stroll with someone and talking to them while eating some warm sweet potatoes makes it worthwhile every now and then, I think.

This was Minagi Tsuzuru of Spring Troupe. See you again.

Can you believe it’s already December? Isn’t that too soon?
There’s only so much of the year left… When people start saying stuff like this, doesn’t it really feel like the end of the year already? You feel me?

Anyway, enough of that.
Y’know, these days I’ve been wondering what I should paint for my last painting of the year, so I’ve been sketching ‘round the streets, watching some movies, and go people-watching in search of some kind of idea or motif to go with…
But I’ve come up blank (`・ω・´)

I want to give my all to whatever it is I’m drawing, so I’ve been recalling each and every piece I’ve done. Maybe the last piece I do for the year should be something that summarizes the year as a whole, right?
Either way, this is a special occasion. I don’t wanna just simply settle for something random.
Hopefully, I can find something that can appeal to my art senses soon~

…Well, this troupe is just full of sensational and special stuff, so I’m actually not too worried about that ♪

It’s been a while since I wrote something serious here that it made me crave for something sweet now (`⸝⸝・ω・⸝⸝´)
I’m gonna go ask Omimi to make us some really cute toon-caron’s[2] later ★

Autumn Troupe’s Settsu Banri.

Thanks to everyone who came to visit Hotel La Verite’s event.

Bet you guys were surprised when they announced our performance, huh? Even though it’s a stage about Marie Antoinette, some of you must’ve wondered why we were chosen for it, or if we would suit the performance at all.
To be frank, it didn’t really click with me either when we were given the performance offer at first. But as we were preparing for it, well… You could say I realized a few things along the way, and it ended up becoming a really good experience to end the year with.

If I hadn’t gone thru this experience before the New Year turns, then the next year would turn out pretty different.

…Though, I shouldn’t be saying much about what next year holds too soon. This year hasn’t ended yet after all.

Still, I’ll be sure to face next year with my own surprises in hand, so you can at least expect that.

Speaking of, Kazunari took tons of off-shot photos that I can’t even figure out which ones to upload. I had a lot of shots since I had to wear two outfits this time, and because of that rare occasion, I feel like my pictures were taken way more often than they would be from a usual performance.
Kazunari said that some of the shots are no-good though… But I’ll make sure to upload the ones that
do get the OK and compile them up in Inste.
Make sure to look them up with the hashtag #FrenchSuperFair ~
