Spring Troupe Fanservice Study Group ~Masumi Edition~

Backstage Stories
CitronLive concerts really are the best~!
It was really hype and eggciting!
IzumiYou went to the concert of an anime song singer the other day, right, Citron-kun?
CitronYES! The concert was really fired up!
The cola & lemon ponzu was fun too!
MasumiCall & response.
CitronThat’s it!
ItaruWow, how nice. I really wanted to go too, you know?
The fact you’re able to easily go on a weekday is too OP…
ChikageYou should've taken a paid day off if you wanted to go that badly.
ItaruEven if you say so, that’s a last resort I can’t just casually pull out.
SakuyaThe venue was that concert hall that MIZUNO Enterprises built in the neighbouring city, right?
CitronThat’s right~. It’s still brand new, so the audience’s seats were really comfortable!
TsuzuruWe stood on stage at that venue for its opening too, right?
Even though we had Mizuno’s power, I still can’t believe it…
IzumiBoth the revue performances, and the White Day concert we did in the past were really well received…[1]
So we keep getting requests for us do to a live show.
It might be possible we’ll get a chance do another live performance together.
CitronThat’d be great! I want to do it too!
SakuyaWe'll have work hard again to practice singing in that case!
TsuzuruAs an actor, there’s nothing better than to train your singing skills since it'll also be useful when you’re acting in a stage that’s like a musical.
CitronOf course, singing is important. But there’s something else that's crucial aside from singing!
MasumiAside from singing?
CitronWhat I mean is fanservice!
When I went to the concert as an audience member, I felt the value of fanservice all over again.
ChikageSakyo-san’s always calling for the troupe members to “show our appreciation towards our fans…” and such, right?
CitronYes!
That’s why all of us need to research more about fanservice.
TsuzuruOh, I see. That’s fair.
SakuyaI’d love to convey my feelings to all our fans even more using different kinds of fanservice!
CitronAlso, just like the singer I saw at the concert, it’d be even better for the person doing the fanservice to do it in a way that suits their own personality!
ItaruI gotchu. You mean like the princess type, energetic type, or cool type, right?
CitronAll the Company members have their own different weapons!
I’m going to study up on fanservice that makes the best use of them right away!
TsuzuruBut Masumi’s not into fanservice and stuff like that, right?
MasumiI won’t do fanservice to anyone but Director.
TsuzuruThere it is…
What are you doing protesting before I’ve even finished talking?
CitronThat’s Masumi as usual!
That’s how he normally operates.
SakuyaBut then Masumi-kun's feelings of gratitude won’t be conveyed to everyone very well through our fanservice…
ItaruNah, that’s not necessarily true.
ItaruUp until now, Masumi has never proactively done things like fanservice for the Company’s fans…
But in the meantime, just conveying his gratitude with a simple “thanks for coming” has gotten his fans riled up, right?
IzumiI see.
TsuzuruI mean, that’s true. I’ve witnessed it.
ChikageIt’s rare, so his fans get excited hearing those kinds of words from Masumi.
CitronIt’s Masumi’s precious dere[2] side!
Masumi…Not really. It’s because Director and the other guys told me I should say my thanks properly.
ItaruBut if you only say “thank you” every time, they’ll think you’re a bot.
TsuzuruIt’d be better to get more variation in there…
ItaruHmm, but if his character gets too close to a sadist, it’ll overlap with senpai’s.
ChikageOi, Chigasaki?
SakuyaYou’re talking about fanservice that’s Masumi-style, right?
ItaruYeah, I think a bit of sweetness after some so-called “cold treatment”[3] would work best… wouldn’t it?
CitronThat level of tsundere is perfect for Masumi!
ItaruIf you go with that, you’ll have to find the proper amount of coldness that’ll make the other persons heart skip a beat. Go on, Masumi, give it a try.
Masumi*Sigh*… I don’t wanna.
ItaruNow, don’t say that.
CitronIn that case, let’s get Director to act as the fan!
IzumiEh, me?
MasumiI’ll do it right away.
TsuzuruHe turned around way too fast.
SakuyaAlright then, Director. Please go ahead.
IzumiSure, I’ll give it a shot then.
The play was wonderful!
I’m cheering for you!
MasumiI’m so happy that you came and watched my play…
Thanks, I love you.
Hey, only keep your eyes on me from now on as well.
ItaruHe went full, OP sweet mode.
Where’d the salt go?
CitronIt’s a super sugary sweets buffet~.
ChikageThat’s not going to be replicable though.
TsuzuruYou have to be a little more curt like you usually are, but still convey your gratitude, Masumi.
Masumi*Sigh*
ItaruLet’s see… then, for example, how about this kind of line?
Masumi, lend me your ear.
Masumi...
ItaruAlright, try it out.
One more time, please, Director-san.
IzumiYeah, sure.
The play was really interesting!
Masumi…Thanks for coming…
Not that I was waiting for you or anything.
CitronOh, nice~. He’s tsundere!
SakuyaOh, I see. It’s a line where he can’t be very honest, huh!
TsuzuruWell, I can’t deny it might make his fans hearts skip a beat.
Masumi…I can’t do this after all.
If it’s you, then I’m happy anytime you come…
Come meet me whenever you want. I want to see you.
I want you to watch my acting even more. I love you…
CitronOhh, he’s deredere~!
ChikageIt ended up like this in the end, huh?
TsuzuruIt was unreasonable to get Director to play the fan.

Notes

  1. The revue performances reference the On the Trajectory to Full Bloom. event. The White Day concert references the Sing Big Thanks! event.
  2. A "tsundere" is a character who acts cold/harsh at first (tsun), but also has a soft/sweet side (dere).
  3. "塩対応" (shiotaiou) lit. means "~salty response", but is a phrase that colloqually means "cold/harsh treatment".
