Act 1
Episode 31: First Day

Izumi	(The setting for the performance is the same as the original. It takes place in Verona, Italy, a city in which the House of Capulet carries on their old feud with the House of Montague——.)
Romeo	"I'll invite Rosaline on a date today..."
Julius	"Please give me these flowers and send it to Rosaline's——."
Romeo	"Huh?"
Julius	"....Who are you?"

Izumi	(In Act 1, Romeo and Julius first meet. It is a scene where they, as love rivals, fight and open up to each other.)
Romeo	"Let's go on a journey together, Julius. Let's run out of this cramped town and travel around the world."
Julius	"Romeo, you have strength, and I have wisdom. Together, I'm sure we can accomplish anything."
Romeo	"That's right. As long as we are together, we can go anywhere."

Izumi	(In Act 2, Romeo goes to a party after he was invited by his best friend Mercutio.)
Mercutio	"Romeo, did you get your heart broken? Don't worry about it. There are a lot of girls in this world. Let's go to a party for a change."
Izumi	(In this scene, Romeo and Julius know that they are the sons of their own families' enemy.)
Julius	"Romeo... Are you Romeo Montague? You've got to be lying. Are you really Romeo from the Montague family?"
	"Romeo, why must you be Romeo Montague?"
Romeo	"Be it your family or name, throw it all away, Julius. We have an ever bigger dream than that!"
Julius	"No. I can't throw away my family."
Izumi	(The two who are troubled by that fact come to Father Lawrence to consult with him, and they decide to get out from the town.)
	(Citron-kun was struggling with his lines at first, but he got better after Tsuzuru-kun arranged it.)
Lawrence	"I support you. Let the seeds of the strife disappear. it's a good thing. I make sure your journey will be under God's protection."

Izumi	(In Act 3, after witnessing the fight at the beginning of the play, Mercutio and Tybalt, who jump to conclusions, secretly act behind their back——.)
Mercutio	"Romeo, you're going to carry this town in the future. I don't have the capacity for that. I'll support you from the side."
Izumi	(Mercutio misunderstands that Romeo is about to have a showdown with the Capulet household, so he secretly makes a preparation.)
	(From here on, this is Tsuzuru-kun and Itaru-san's highlights.)
Tybalt	"Montague, you say!? Julius, stop talking about that at this night, or else a snake will come out."
	"Listen. Earthquakes, thunders, fires and Montague^[1]. The last one is not scary, but because they are such a troublesome family, we have to exterminate them at any rate."
Izumi	(The conflict gets worse without Romeo and Julius knowing.)
Tybalt	"I'm worried about you, Julius. I have to protect you as your foster brother."

Izumi	(On the day of their departure, Romeo knows about the Capulet's raid.)
	(During the clashes, Tybalt stabs Mercutio, and Romeo who comes to stop them stabs Tybalt.)
Mercutio	"——ugh."
	"Romeo, you're at the top spot of this——."
Romeo	"MERCUTIO!!"

Izumi	(After hearing about the fuss, the police comes and arrests Romeo.)
	(Romeo tells the feudal lord who comes to ask about the situation that this is his own responsibility, so he is sentenced to death.)
Lawrence	"Oh God, please have mercy on the innocent——."

Izumi	(In Act 4, Julius is struggling to help Romeo who is sentenced to death."
Julius	"I want to help Romeo. What should I do?"
Lawrence	"There's a drug that will make him appear lifeless. It can deceive everyone."
Izumi	(Julius then departs on a journey to search for the ingredients for the drug by himself.)
Julius	"Where is it? Where are that flowers? Don't die until I return, Romeo."

Izumi	(And then, on the day of Romeo's execution——.)
Romeo	.....
Izumi	(Julius draws his sword towards Romeo who is standing in the death line. And then, the sword fighting climax comes.)
Julius	"Die, Romeo——!"
Romeo	"Julius!?"
	"Why are you doing this to me!?"
Julius	"You're Tybalt's enemy——!"
Izumi	(Their vigour is emanating. Romeo is overwhelmed when Julius seriously grasps him.)
	(The audience is also confused over Julius' transformation.)
Romeo	(——ugh.)
Julius	"Gaah!"
Izumi	(Yes. Good. Romeo's risks, conversely, create a sense of urgency. Masumi-kun follows up nicely too.)

Izumi	(Romeo is executed, and the desperate Julius poisons himself to death. The audience keeps their interest until the last scene, a funeral is held for Romeo and Julius.)
	(The two of them come back to life. Next is a simple dialogue where Julius tells Romeo how he got the ingredients so that Romeo could drink the poison.)
Julius	"In the first place, I can't handle physical activities. Sorry, but I'll never, for the life of me, do such a thing like climbing a mountain anymore."
Romeo	"I'm so sorry, Julius. I'll go search for the ingredients of the drugs for you next time."
Julius	"As if I'd let you do such things again."
Izumi	(They depart on their journey as the sun rises——.)

Izumi	....
	(All the audience are applauding——.)
Sakuya	.....
Tsuzuru	...This is what they call applause, right?
Masumi	The audience.
Itaru	Amazing.
Citron	It sounds like thunder...
Izumi	Don't space out, guys. It's time for the curtain call!
Sakuya	——Ye, yes! Let's go, guys!

Sakuya	——Thank you!
Tsuzuru	Thank you!
Masumi	....
Itaru	Thank you.
Citron	Thanks!

↑ It is a Japanese phrase where they rank the most fearful things. The last one is actually father, but Tsuzuru changes it to Montague.

Act 1
Episode 31: The First Day

Izumi	(Verona, Italy. The setting is the same as in the original text. A town where the House of Montague and the House of Capulet have been entrenched in a feud for many years—.)
Romeo	“I’m going to invite Rosaline out for sure today...”
Julius	“Please give me this flower. Address it to Rosaline—”
Romeo	“Eh?”
Julius	“...Who are you?”
Izumi	(Act 1. Romeo and Julius meet each other for the first time as rivals in love; this is the scene where they fight, then make up.)
Romeo	“Let’s go on a journey together, Julius. We’ll escape this cramped town and see the world together.”
Julius	“Romeo, you have strength. And I have intellect. If the two of us work together, we can accomplish anything.”
Romeo	“That’s right; if the two of us are together, we can go anywhere.”

Izumi	(Act 2. Romeo’s best friend, Mercutio, invites him to a party, and they go together.)
Mercutio	“Romeo, I hear you were rejected? Don’t worry about it. There are countless women in this world. Let’s go to a party to take your mind off of it.”
Izumi	(This is where Romeo and Julius discover that they are the sons of rival families.)
Julius	“Romeo... Romeo Montague? You must be lying. Are you truly Romeo of the Montague family?”
	“Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo Montague?”
Romeo	“Cast aside your household and your name, Julius! We have an even greater dream!”
Julius	“No. I cannot throw my family aside.”
Izumi	(The two consult Friar Laurence about their dilemma, and decide to leave the town together.)
	(Tsuzuru-kun rearranged the lines that Citron-kun was having trouble with.)
Laurence	“I will support you. ‘Tis good for the seeds of conflict to disappear. God bless your journey.”

Izumi	(Act 3. After witnessing the fight between Romeo and Julius and jumping to conclusions, Mercutio and Tybalt work behind the scenes.)
Mercutio	“Romeo, one day you’ll become a man who carries this town upon his back. I don’t have what it takes. I’ll support you by your side.”
Izumi	(Mercutio misunderstands the situation, thinking that Romeo is trying to put an end to the feud with the House of Capulet. He secretly begins preparations.)
	(This is where Tsuzuru-kun and Itaru-san get their spotlight.)
Tybalt	“Did you say Montague!? Julius, do not speak of that name at this nightly hour; a snake will come for you.”
	“Earthquakes, lightning, fire, Montague. Listen: they are not terrifying, but they are troublesome, so we must exterminate them one day.”
Izumi	(Romeo and Julius remain unaware of the growing conflict.)
Tybalt	“I’m worried for you, Julius. I must protect you as your milk-sibling.”

Izumi	(On the day of his departure, Romeo learns of the attack on the House of Capulet.)
	(Amidst the scuffle, Tybalt stabs Mercutio, and Romeo, who jumps in to stop them, stabs Tybalt.)
Mercutio	“—Gh.”
	“Romeo, you will stand at the top of this town...”
Romeo	“Mercutio!!”
Izumi	(Romeo is arrested and locked away by the town guards.)
	(When he confesses guilt to the lord who arrives to inquire about the situation, he is given the death sentence.)
Laurence	“Oh Lord, have mercy on the innocent—.”

Izumi	(Act 4. Julius makes every effort to save Romeo.)
Julius	“I want to save Romeo. What must I do?”
Laurence	“If you use the sleeping drug to feign death, you can fool them all.”
Izumi	(Julius departs to search for the ingredients for the drug.)
Julius	“The flower he spoke of—where, where is it? Do not die until I return, Romeo.”

Izumi	(The day of Romeo’s execution—.)
Romeo	“....”
Izumi	(Sword in hand, Julius attacks Romeo in front of the scaffold. This is the climactic sword fight scene.)
Julius	“Die, Romeo—!”
	Swords clashing
Romeo	“Julius!?”
	“Why are you attacking me!?”
Julius	“To avenge Tybalt—!”
Izumi	(You can sense their fighting spirits. Julius fights fiercely; Romeo is bewildered.)
	(The audience is also perplexed by Julius’s sudden change in attitude.)

Romeo	“—gh.”
Julius	“There!”
Izumi	(Yup, this is good. Romeo’s precarious sword fighting makes the scene more tense, and Masumi-kun is covering for him.)

Izumi	(Romeo’s execution is carried out. Julius despairs and kills himself with poison. Their funerals are held. The audience is drawn in, and the last scene opens.)
	(The two rise from their coffins. A light-hearted exchange between Julius and Romeo: Julius explains that he put on an act to make Romeo drink the sleeping drug.)
Julius	“You know, I’m not made for physical labor. I refuse to hike a mountain like that ever again.”
Romeo	“Sorry, sorry, Julius. Next time, I’ll scramble about for your sake.”
Julius	“We had better not go through that sort of ordeal ever again.”
Izumi	(The sun rises behind them as they depart the town. The end—.)

Izumi	....
	(A full-bloom applause—)
Sakuya	....
Tsuzuru	....This is a round of applause, right?
Masumi	The guests.
Itaru	Amazing.
Citron	It’s like a storm....
Izumi	Don’t just stand there, everyone, the curtain call!
Sakuya	Y-yes! Let’s go!

Sakuya	—Thank you very much!
Tsuzuru	Thank you very much!
Masumi	....
Itaru	Thank you very much.
Citron	I thank you!
