CitronGood work!
HomareWe achieved wonderful results.

ItaruYou have your part-time job now, right, Sakuya?
SakuyaThat’s right.
I’m sorry for causing trouble with the practice time, Director.
IzumiDon’t worry about it. We still have plenty of time to work on it.
HomareHisoka-kun also has work at Guy-san’s bar, isn’t that right?
HisokaYeah. Guy and I have to get ready to open the shop, so I’ll get going now.
ItaruThanks for today, you two.
*door closes*
AzumaAnyways, kabuki really is amazing, right?
You have to practice your gestures, singing, dancing, tumbling, and so on.
IzumiThere are lots scenes of rehearsals in our play this time as well.
HomareAll of the actors lived very busy lives then, hm?
ItaruIf you put a kabuki actor’s ability parameters into a skill chart, I bet their overall power would be OP.
CitronThey’d definitely be an SSR character with a single digit roll percentage!
ItaruExactly, my dude.
AzumaFufu. I can’t say I really get the analogy, but I felt like it was amazing all over again after reading the book this time.
HomareThen let us endeavour in improving our own parameters until the actual show, shall we?
IzumiI’ll support you guys too!
CitronIn that case, why don’t the 5 of us go do extra practice for one of our parameters after this?
Azuma“Go do”, you say… will it be different from the voluntary practice we do here?
CitronWe’ll change locations to deepen our true north[1]!
Itaru…And that’s why we’re here.
CitronWe’ve arrived at the karaoke place!
AzumaIt sure is fresh singing karaoke with these members.

HomareThis may serve well as a nice change of pace, while also taking the form of self-practice.
IzumiI’ll order everyone’s drinks together once you’ve decided, so please let me know, ok?
HomareThank you, Director.
Who shall input their song first?
CitronI’ll take the seed[2] first!
ItaruYou mean “lead”, right? What would you do with a seed?
AzumaFufu. I can’t wait to hear what his Highness is going to sing.
CitronI’ll turn the precision scoring on and seriously go all out!
“~♪”
Izumi(T-this is… a Zafran song?
I see, they also have some at Japanese karaoke.)
ItaruNo way, serious-mode Citron comes in with a Zafran song.
AzumaHe has a relaxed and lovely singing voice, huh?
Citron“PANYA! PANYA!”
IzumiBut what the heck is that chant that comes out of nowhere sometimes…
HomareThe lyrics are displayed in Zafran, so I haven’t the faintest idea what they mean.
ItaruIf only Guy-san or senpai were here.
Citron…Phew. And done.
IzumiAs expected of Citron-kun the karaoke lover—you were amazing!
Scoring machine“Your score is exactly… 96.5 points!”
CitronNOOO! I didn’t reach my target of 97 points!!
HomareBut isn’t it a remarkably high score nonetheless!
CitronIt’s my all-or-nothing song, so that's only natural.
AzumaBy the way, just what kind of song was that?
IzumiAh, yeah, I was wondering too.
CitronThat was the former Zafran hit song, “The Chicken Cries ‘Panya’”
The lyrics tell the story of a man and a woman who felt they were destined to be together the morning the chicken cried “panya” instead of “cock-a-doodle-doo”.
ItaruIt’s hard to decide whether that’s ridiculous or romantic…
AzumaBut it was a lovely song, right?
HomareI love it as well. If it’s alright, won’t you lend me the CD later, Citron-kun?
CitronJust say the word!

Anna

Notes

  1. I’m preeetty sure Citron is misspeaking here, but I’m not sure which word he actually meant though, if so lol.
  2. Citron originally says “仙人を斬る” (sennin wo kiru: sennin means “hermit”), which Itaru corrects him with the correct expression: “先陣を斬る” (senjin wo kiru: ~take the lead).
