IzumiWith that said, I'd like to announce that Itaru Chigasaki-san and Citron-kun will officially be joining our theatre company from today onwards!
CitronI'll be in your care.
Izumi(I'm still a little bit unused to seeing Citron-kun without his mask. I was surprised to know that he looks more handsome than I thought he'd be.)
ManagerWhoah! You managed to gather all five members of newborn Spring Troupe within three days. Nice! As expected of Director.
TsuzuruSo where's Itaru-san?
SakuyaHe went home to prepare for moving. It seems he will attend the practice from tomorrow.
IzumiThen, I'd like us to decide what we will be performing next month.
SakuyaIs it all right for us to decide without Itaru-san?
IzumiWe only have seven weeks left before the debut performance, so if we don't start preparing the script soon, we won't make it in time.
ManagerIs it possible to use the old script?
IzumiThat may be a good idea.
SakuyaThe first generation Spring Troupe's Romeo and Juliet was really interesting!
MasumiBut we'd probably get compared if we perform the same play.
IzumiThat'd be kind of hurt...
CitronRomeo and Juliet is good. Everyone in my country is crying at the scene where Romeo has to come back to space.
IzumiI think that's a totally different story.
TsuzuruUhh——.
IzumiWhat is it, Tsuzuru-kun?
TsuzuruIf possible, I'd like to write the new script...
IzumiI see... You originally wanted to be a playwright, right.
(But with this group, we need a plenty of time just to get done with the read-through, so we need the script as soon as possible... I understand Tsuzuru-kun's feeling, but...)
ManagerWhat if Minagi-kun wrote the script for our next performance instead?
TsuzuruAre you certain that the theatre will still be here for our next performance?
ManagerTha-that's...
Izumi...
How much time do you need to write the script, Tsuzuru-kun?
TsuzuruI've written some short scripts for studying purposes, but I've never written a script in two hours...
IzumiI see...
(Will he able to do it if I give him a deadline...? But he still needs to attend practices and improve his skills...)
(I think we should just give up using a new script this time...)
TsuzuruOne week... Can you give me one week to write the script? If I can't complete it in time, I'll give up. I'll also attend practices.
IzumiTsuzuru-kun...
(He looks determined. He really wants to write the script.)
Okay, I give you one week. You don't have to attend practice. But be sure to finish the play script by then.
TsuzuruIs.. it really okay?
IzumiBut if you bring me an incomplete script by that time, I'll get angry.
TsuzuruThat's scary...
IzumiThat's obvious. The future of this theatre company is in your hand. You can't just say "I wanted to write it," for your own satisfaction.
Tsuzuru——roger.
SakuyaGood luck, Tsuzuru-kun!
ManagerDo you already have any ideas in mind?
TsuzuruEver since I watched the footage of the first generation Spring Troupe's performance, the image of Romeo and Juliet got stuck in my head. I think I'd like to write that story.
CitronNice idea! I'll be the captured alien.
TsuzuruThat's not Romeo and Juliet.
MasumiAre you going to be the Juliet?
IzumiMe!? I won't take part in the play. I'm good being the director. I don't want to stand on stage.
(I've already decided it, anyway. I don't want to stand on stage as an actor again. No way. I'm not worthy enough...)
ManagerMANKAI Company has only had male actors ever since it was founded. So naturally, sometimes the male actors have to play the female roles.
IzumiI see.
SakuyaSo we should choose someone to take the female role as well?
ManagerI'm not really sure, since the first generation Spring Troupe had an actor who was good at playing female roles...
IzumiIf any of you take on the female roles, it may look a bit cheap and scary...
TsuzuruLeave that matter to me.
Izumi...Fine. I'll believe in Tsuzuru-kun.
TsuzuruOkay.
IzumiWell, we have decided to leave the script to Tsuzuru-kun so that's all for today.
Sakuya-kun and Masumi-kun have school tomorrow, right? You can't be late.
MasumiI want you to wake me up.
IzumiI'm counting on you, Sakuya-kun.
SakuyaGot it!
ManagerIs it really okay to leave the script matter to Minagi-kun, Director? Should I search for the first generation's script too just in case?
And we can have everyone use that for the read-through in the meantime...
Izumi(It'd be safer that way for sure, but...)
There's no need. I'm sure he'll be all right. I believe in Tsuzuru-kun.
(Tsuzuru-kun looks confident that he can do it. It's just my intuition, but I want to believe it.

IzumiChigasaki Itaru-san and Citron-kun have happily joined our troupe today!
CitronLet me say it again—let’s get along.
Izumi(I’m still not used to Citron-kun’s face without the mask. He’s even more beautiful than I thought; I was surprised.)
ManagerOh my! What a spectacular achievement; it’s only been three days since the Reborn Spring Troupe assembled, and we already have five members! Director sure is amazing!
TsuzuruAnd where is Itaru-san?
SakuyaHe went home today to get ready to move in. He said he would come to practice starting tomorrow.
IzumiThen I’d like to decide on the program for our performance next month.
SakuyaShouldn’t we do that when Itaru-san is around?
IzumiWe only have seven weeks till the performance, so we need to prepare the script right away or else we won’t make it in time.
ManagerCan’t we reuse an old script?
IzumiThat might be a good idea.
SakuyaThe previous generation’s Romeo and Juliet was really amazing!
MasumiIf we do the same play, we’ll probably get compared.
IzumiThat might be a bit rough...
CitronRomeo and Juliet is good. Everyone in my country cries when Romeo returns to space.
IzumiI think that’s a different story.
TsuzuruUm—.
IzumiWhat is it, Tsuzuru-kun?
TsuzuruIf possible, I’d like to write a new script....
IzumiOh, right... you originally wanted to be a scriptwriter, after all.
(But with these members, even reading lines out loud is going to take a lot of time, so we need the script right now... I understand how Tsuzuru-kun feels, but...)
ManagerHow about we use Minagi-kun’s scripts starting next performance?
TsuzuruDo we know that there will be a next performance?
ManagerTh-that’s...
Izumi....
Tsuzuru-kun, how long will it take you to write the script?
TsuzuruI’ve written a number of short scripts, but nothing two hours long...
IzumiI see...
(Should I have him attempt to write one on a deadline....? But it’s better to have him practice and improve during that time....)
(Maybe it’s best for him to give up this time...)
TsuzuruOne week... Could you give me just one week? If I can’t finish it by then, I’ll give up. I’ll come to practice too.
IzumiTsuzuru-kun...
(He looks serious. He really wants to write the script.)
I understand. You don’t have to attend practice for one week. But make sure you finish a full script by then.
TsuzuruEh... can I really?
IzumiIf you give me something halfway-done, I’ll be mad.
TsuzuruScary....
IzumiOf course. The troupe’s life depends on it. Saying “I wanted to write it” isn’t enough—don’t let this be just a selfish desire.
Tsuzuru—Yes.
SakuyaGood luck, Tsuzuru-kun!
ManagerHave you decided what kind of story you’re going to write?
TsuzuruEver since watching the video of the Original Spring Troupe’s performance, I’ve had this image of Romeo and Juliet in my mind, so that’s what I’m gonna go with.
CitronSounds good! I’ll be the captured alien.
TsuzuruThat’s not RomiJuli.
MasumiSo are you going to be Juliet?
IzumiMe!? Of course not. I’m the Director. I’m not going to stand on stage anymore.
(That’s what I’ve decided. I won’t stand on stage as an actor anymore. I can’t. I don’t have the right to...)
ManagerMANKAI Company has always been an all-male troupe, ever since it was established. Traditionally, even women’s roles have been played by men.
IzumiI see.
SakuyaSo is somebody going to dress as a woman this time?
ManagerThe Original Spring Troupe had a member known as an onnagata—someone who was good at dressing up and playing female roles, but...
IzumiWith these members, I’m afraid dressing up as a woman might come off as cheesy; I’m a little scared to do it.
TsuzuruCould you leave that to me?
Izumi...Okay. I’ll trust you, Tsuzuru-kun.
Tsuzuru‘kay.
IzumiThen we’ll leave the script to Tsuzuru-kun. That’s all for today.
Tomorrow is a weekday, so Sakuya-kun and Masumi-kun have school. Make sure you’re not late.
MasumiWake me up.
IzumiTake care of him please, Sakuya-kun.
SakuyaYes!
ManagerDirector, can we really leave the script to Minagi-kun? Should I look for the Original Spring Troupe’s script just in case?
Everyone else could start practicing with that script...
Izumi(It’s true that that’s the safer option, but...)
No. I’m sure’ll be fine. Let’s trust Tsuzuru-kun.
(His eyes looked determined; I’m sure he’ll do it. It’s just a feeling, but I want to believe in that feeling.)
