I hated losing,
Had confidence,
Thought everything would be rosy as long as I was there.
I turned away from them, the drooping sunflowers,
Without understanding their emotions.
I was so angry.
I could not allow myself to fail,
I wished for perfection while improving my skills.
But I hid in the shade,
All the responsibility and pressure.
I don’t want to admit it,
But meeting them changed me.
They may be cocky and untalented,
But they taught me the meaning of belief.
It’s okay if it’s not flawless,
It’s okay to whine,
You don’t have to bear it all alone.
They made me realise,
It’s okay for me to bloom as me.
To me, those guys are,
Like the midsummer sun.
The ignored and drooping sunflowers,
Looked over here,
Stood up straight,
And smiled so kindly.
I hate to admit it,
But meeting them changed me.
Although I’m awkward, and they make fun of me,
They taught me the meaning of connection.
Belief in your friends,
Crying and laughing,
Time that you can’t experience alone.
Love for stage acting,
Shone a light on my life.
To me, those guys are,
Like the midsummer sun.
It’s okay if it’s not perfect,
It’s okay to complain,
You don’t have to take it all on by yourself.
They made me realise,
It’s okay for me to bloom as me.
To me, those guys are,
Like the midsummer sun.
