VS Dark Empress Doll
Backstage StoriesBanri | As expected, the coffee at this shop's aroma and taste are both great. |
Tsumugi | Fufu, that’s true. |
Banri | Ah, right. |
I have something I want to ask Tsumugi-san.
Tsumugi | Is it about university? |
Banri | Nope, there’s somethin’ I don’t understand in this game. |
Wait a sec as I log in. | |
…Here. What’s this drawing depicted here?
Tsumugi | This is a peach blossom. By the way, its flower language is “charming” and… |
Also something like “invincibility”.
Banri | I see. |
So then here is… oh, cleared.
Thanks. It was necessary to solve the game’s event’s mystery.
Tsumugi | Hm, what kind of game is it? |
Banri | A puzzle solving game that combined quizzes and puzzles. |
You try to clear the problem that the opponent brings up.
It’ll be Girl’s Day soon, so the enemy boss that comes out is a Hina doll[1]. Look here.
Dark Empress Doll | “Fufufu, you should become my servant!” |
Tsumugi | Ehh… |
Banri | Well, let’s get going then. |
Wallet… uh? | |
What the hell is this? | |
Tsumugi | An Empress Doll[2] mascot? |
Banri | It’s cause recently I went back home, see. At that time, my sis jokingly put it in. Geez… |
Tsumugi | Ahaha, is that so. |
I don’t have any siblings, so I’m envious of such things.
Banri | Because she doesn’t need it anyways, I was forced to take it. It’s not even cute. |
Tsumugi | Really? I think it’s cute though… |
Banri | Seriously? |
Then I’ll give it to Tsumugi-san.
Tsumugi | Eh, it’s ok? |
Banri | It’s also weird giving it to a guy, but you've said before you weren't involved with Girl’s Day and stuff like that, right? |
Tsumugi | Ahaha, yeah I did say that. |
It’s certainly a bit fresh.
Then, I’ll take it. | |
Thank you. | |
Banri | Yup. |
Tsumugi | I’m home. |
Tasuku | Ahh, welcome back. |
Tsumugi | Hmmm, I wonder where a good place to put this is… |
Tasuku | ? What are you talking about? |
Tsumugi | From Banri-kun, I received an Empress doll mascot. |
Tasuku | An Empress doll… |
You’re not a girl and you don’t decorate though.
Tsumugi | We live under the same roof as Director, |
So speaking of mascots we can’t just disregard it as useless.
Tasuku | Well… That’s true I guess. |
Tsumugi | Alright, I’ll place it here. |
…Fufu, it sure is cute. |
Tsumugi | Eugh… |
The theatre? At what point did I…
Empress doll | … |
Tsumugi | !? |
Th-that surprised me. | |
Why is the Empress doll at a place like this—.
Dark Empress doll | Fufu… fufufufu… |
You shall grovel before me!
Go, peach blossom spirits!
Tsumugi | Uwah!? |
??? | —. |
Tsumugi | Ehh? |
(Someone.. was protecting me?)
Torment doll | … |
Tsumugi | Torment doll[3]!? |
Torment doll | Leave this thing’s seal to me. |
Tsumugi | Eh? |
Dark Empress doll | Foolish. You say you are going to defy me? |
I shall teach you a lesson!
Torment doll | HAA! |
*clash* | |
Dark Empress doll | HOW INSOLENT! |
Torment doll | TAAA! |
*clash* | |
Tsumugi | (S-somehow this became kind of amazing…) |
Dark Empress doll | D-damn you…! |
If it’s going to be like this, I will take you along with me…!
Tsumugi | Take him!? |
Torment doll | Don’t be concerned about me and run away. |
As for you, you still have things to do, right?
Tsumugi | Th-things to do…? |
Torment doll | Stand on the stage… |
Tsumugi | TORMENT DOLLLL—!! |
—! | |
Tasuku | What’s wrong? |
Tsumugi | It, it was a dream… |
Tasuku | Dream? |
Tsumugi | At the theatre, I came under attack from the Dark Empress doll… |
Then there the Torment doll appeared and saved me.
However, the Dark Empress doll, she said if it was going to be like that then she would self-destruct…
Together with the Torment doll…
Tasuku | …Huh? |
Tsumugi | The Torment doll… |
Tasuku | …You’re tired, hurry up and sleep. |
Tsumugi | Hey, Tasuku. That guy… The Torment doll, |
He’ll definitely come back home, right?
Tasuku | No, if he’s able to return here it’d be troublesome. |
Tsumugi | Even so, why did that kind of dream… |
…Perhaps—. | |
Banri | Hey heey. |
Tsumugi | … |
Banri | Tsumugi-san? What’s the matter? |
Tsumugi | This. |
It’s the Empress doll mascot you gave me yesterday but…
Banri | Ahhh, haha. |
As expected, you didn’t need it, huh.
Tsumugi | No. |
It’s not that… | |
Banri-kun, this doll… it’s probably best to go get this exorcised.
Banri | …Ha? |
Anna
Notes
- ↑ The type of dolls used in the Girl’s Day festival (ひな祭り) in Japan
- ↑ From my research on the internet, お雛さま (ohinasama) typically refers to the entire set of Hina dolls, but I did find a source that referred to that particular doll as the ‘empress’ in the doll set, so for simplicity's sake I decided to go with Empress doll here (please lmk if that’s inaccurate though)
- ↑ He's called "Infinity doll" in Japanese but I decided to use the official English name here
