Taichi | How 'bout braised pork belly? ...Nah, looks like it'd take too long... |
Tenma | Maybe we should just go with curry. It's easy enough to make. |
Taichi | The moment Director-sensei sees that we're making curry, she'll try to take over! |
Tenma | You're right... Or she'll keep telling us what to do. |
Tsuzuru | What are you guys looking at? |
Juza | "Simple and Delicious! Recipes for the Beginner Cook"...? |
Tsuzuru | Oh, trying to decide what to make for dinner? |
Tenma | Yeah. We've gotta plan this properly, or things will get out of hand. |
Taichi | Dinner last night sure was... something. |
Tsuzuru | Ah, yeah... Ever since Fushimi-san's been banned from the kitchen, we've been having all sorts of weird stuff for dinner. |
Tenma | Guy's Zahran cuisine was great, though. |
Taichi | Getting through last night's endless onigiri hell was pretty tough. |
Juza | So was the spice veteran's full-course meal. |
Tsuzuru | It tasted good, but I think eating it made us all die a little inside. Or a lot. |
Tenma | It was like a spice-eating challenge straight out of TV... |
Taichi | That's why we thought we should cook something simple tonight. Any suggestions? |
Tsuzuru | I think if you stick to what's in this book, you'll be fine. All the recipes are pretty straightforward and easy. |
Taichi | I can't even tell what's easy and what's not! |
Tenma | This has made me appreciate Tsuzuru-san, Omi-san, and the Director's work in the kitchen even more... |
Taichi | We gotta make something tasty to thank them! |
Tsuzuru | I'll help you out if you need it, so just pick something you like. |
Taichi | 'Kay! |
| |
Tenma | So, what's your next play like? |
Taichi | It's really fresh and interesting! Really different from what Autumn's done before! |
Juza | It'll still have a lot of action, but this time, it's got a lot more comedic elements. |
Tenma | Ohh, so like Mantou Fist? |
Taichi | I'm really glad that everyone's requests made it into the play! |
Juza | I'm also glad that I have the chance to take on a new kind of role. |
Tsuzuru | I really didn't think I was going to pull through with everyone's requests. |
| But, once I got everything worked out, the script was a lot of fun to write. |
| I'm really looking forward to seeing Fushimi-san lead again. |
Juza | Riku really fits Omi-san. |
Tsuzuru | I kinda based Riku on my impression of Fushimi-san when I first met him at university. |
| He was really nice to everyone, but it sort of felt like he was trying to keep his distance from everyone at the same time. |
| He didn't treat anyone badly, but it never felt like he was really in it, like if you took one step towards him, he'd always take a step back. |
| He never said no to anyone, but he was also never really there with us. |
Juza | Huh... Never would'a thought that. |
Tenma | It is a little surprising. |
Tsuzuru | I was surprised to see how much he changed after he joined Mankai. |
| He's a lot more approachable and less detached now. I'm happy for him. |
Juza | How'd you guys meet? |
Tsuzuru | Fushimi-san was recruiting for the photography club and showed me where to go when I got a little lost on my first day. |
| I didn't join because I already had my sights set on the drama club, but we exchanged details anyway. |
| Then, when Miyoshi-san mentioned getting some photos for the flyers, I thought of Fushimi-san. |
Tenma | And that's how he joined? Small world. |
Tsuzuru | Right? I never would've thought that I would end up writing a leading role for him. |
Tenma | How's practise been? |
Taichi | Oh, uh... |
Juza | 'S going fine, but... |
Taichi | Ever since the cooking ban happened, there's been a weird distance between Omi-kun and Sakyo-nii. |
Juza | They don't hate each other or nothin', but it's kinda like they're tiptoeing around each other. |
Tsuzuru | They never really butt heads with each other, so that makes me even more worried... |
Taichi | Yeah... And Sakyo-nii's never been good with showing how he truly feels. |
Juza | He's worried about Omi-san, but he's also stubborn. |
Taichi | Gets kinda awkward sometimes. |
Juza | You're good at clearing the air though, so thanks. |
Taichi | Leave that to me! |
Tenma | You can come to us whenever your acting gets a little stuck. |
Tsuzuru | We'll do our best to help out. |
Juza | Thanks. |
Taichi | Aw, you guys! |
| |
Omi | "I used to always play at the Akebono Inn... It was never this run down." |
| "And geez, Mom wants me to be the manager of this place? There's no one here to manage!" |
| "At least the electricity and gas work. It'll do for now." |
Juza | ...... |
Omi | Juza? |
Juza | Brought you a snack. |
Omi | It's usually the other way around, huh? |
Juza | Yeah. Thanks. |
Omi | Oh, you brought pudding? |
Juza | The convenience store just started selling these. |
Omi | It looks good. |
Juza | Not as good as your scones, though. |
Omi | Aw, don't say that, you're making me want to bake. |
Juza | I'm making myself hungry, too. |
Omi | We both have to hold out a little longer, though. |
Juza | Oh, right. Here. I filled it in. |
Omi | Oh, the survey? Thanks. |
Juza | Sorry, I couldn't pick just one... |
Omi | Wow, this is... a lot. |
| "Onion soup au gratin, fresh souffle cheesecake, scones with clotted cream..." |
Juza | There's more on the back. |
Omi | Oh, wow. |
Juza | All I could think of was your cooking, and I couldn't pick just one thing, so I just wrote everything down. |
Omi | I think you should try anyway, for the sake of the survey... |
Juza | My bad. |
Omi | What's the one thing you'd like me to make once the ban is lifted? |
Juza | The one thing... hmm... |
| French toast. |
Omi | ...! |
| |
| *flashback* |
| |
Nachi | What's this... egg bread? |
Omi | ...Man, you've never even had French toast before? |
| |
| *flashback ends* |
| |
Juza | It's been a while since I've had it. The one you made for me last time was really good. |
Omi | Do you want it with egg? |
Juza | Egg? |
Omi | ... |
Juza | Um, I'd like mine with a lot of cream. And strawberries... |
Omi | ...Oh, yeah. Of course. |
| (...Of course he wouldn't he ask for the same thing, huh.) |
| Okay, I'll make it for you once the ban lifts. I promise. |
Juza | Nice. |
Omi | I think I'm having a withdrawal from being out of the kitchen for so long, haha. |
Juza | ...Sakyo-san only technically banned you from the Mankai kitchen, right? |
| If you want to cook, you could use another kitchen. |
Omi | ...I never thought of that. |
Juza | I get where he's coming from, but cooking is really important to you, right? |
Omi | ...I'm not really sure what cooking is to me, to be honest. |
Juza | I think you should let yourself cook, if that's what you really want to do. |
| I'll wait for the ban to lift to eat your food, though. Do whatever you think is right. |
Omi | ...Yeah. |
Juza | Oh, and I know you said you weren't sure what cooking is to you, but... your cooking is really important to me. |
Omi | ...! |
Juza | See ya. |
Omi | ...... |
| (Juza too, huh? I feel so lucky to cook for these guys.) |
| (...I should probably do something about the withdrawal, though.) |
