Izumi | Nice to meet you, everyone. I’m the supervising director of MANKAI Company, Tachibana Izumi. |
| And the six members here are MANKAI Company’s actors who will be participating in the Setsubun Fes play. |
Kuraki | I’m Kuraki, the advisor for Fuko High School’s theatre club. Please take care of us for this event. |
Oohara | Name’s Oohara. Second-year student! Theatre club’s president! |
Kogawa | And mine’s Kogawa! Vice pres to the club! Also second year! |
Kuraki | I know you two have been looking up to MANKAI Company, but don’t get too anxious now just because they’ve come here for you. |
Tsuzuru | I’m Minagi, a graduate of Fuko High School. I’m glad to be here to help out my juniors and their theatre play. |
Kazunari | I’m also a graduate from here! Call me Kazunari Miyoshi! Let’s have fun workin’ together, you two~! |
Oohara | Same here!! |
Kogawa | We know all about you two, Minagi-san! Miyoshi-san! |
Tsuzuru | Y-You do? |
Oohara | We watch MANKAI Company’s shows all the time!! That’s why we know about you guys originally being from Fuko High! |
Kogawa | We’re always deeply moved watching our seniors’ performances… |
| When Sensei told us that our prayers to co-star with MANKAI Company were answered, I thought for sure I was dreamin’. |
Tasuku | Nice to see you’ve got some pretty passionate juniors. |
Kazunari | Hehe, these guys are such good kids, aren’t they~ |
Azami | Isn’t this your first time meeting them too… |
Oohara | Not to mention Minagi-san is writing the script for us. I feel like I’m on cloud nine! |
Tsuzuru | When you say it like that, I can’t help but feel this small but weird itch……. |
Juza | If it’s Tsuzuru-san, it’ll turn out alright. |
Citron | Fight-o, Tsuzuru! |
Tsuzuru | I’m definitely gonna try to give it my all… Ah, speaking of. A question for you two, but is there anything, in particular, you want to try doing in your play? |
Kogawa | WHAT!? Y-You mean a request from us? But we can’t just….!! |
Oohara | It’s amazing enough that you’re willing to write for us at all!! |
Kazunari | C’mon you two! Since you’ve got this chance already, you can’t just let cat get your tongue! |
Citron | Agreed! Feel free to request anything! |
Kogawa | But…. |
Tsuzuru | Well, I suppose we only just met, so I get it’d probably be hard for you to say anything right away. |
Citron | Ha…! I just thought of something good! |
| Why don’t we head over to the Shinto shrine? Since we’ll be using it as the location of the play, you might get inspired from a little venue check! |
Kazunari | That’s true~! We may already have arrangements to inspect the shrine after some preliminary arrangements, but there’s no harm in checking it ahead of time too! |
Izumi | Would that be fine with everyone? |
Kuraki | Thank you for your kind consideration. It’ll be fine with you two, right? |
Oohara & Kogawa | Yes!! |
| |
 |
Chief Priest | We’re very welcome to have you all here, everyone. I would also like to thank you all for your assistance in revitalizing this shrine. |
Kazunari | It’s a win-win sitch’ for both the shrine and the school if we can liven them up together! |
Izumi | Which area will the show be held? |
Chief Priest | I was hoping to suggest this modestly open space here if it would be plausible for you. |
Azami | Modestly spacious, if you ask me. |
Tasuku | I think this much would be easy to move around in during the show. |
Tsuzuru | Even though this shrine’s this close to school, I don’t think I visited this place all that much… |
Kazunari | Same here~ |
Chief Priest | It’s not just students in particular. In general, there haven’t been many people who would chance upon and make their way to visit the shrine. |
Oohara | …..That’s it! |
Citron | Did you perhaps come up with something? |
Oohara | Yes…..Uhm, Minagi-san… Since Setsubun lands on a Sunday…… What do you think of…. A story about oni? |
Tsuzuru | Oni, huh… Since our location is a Shinto shrine, then a traditional Japanese story would fit really nicely. |
Tasuku | Normally, the oni is written as the bad guy, right? Then wouldn’t having a story from the oni’s point of view be more interesting? |
Kazunari | How about taking a step further and making everyone an oni? |
Tsuzuru | A story with a lot of oni in it…. |
Azami | If it’s an oni motif, that means traditional clothing with traditional make-up…. I’m up for that. |
Tsuzuru | Then what about… Something like an oni village? With all sorts of oni in it? |
Citron | Ohh! The ideas are just flowing from Tsuzuru one after another! |
Izumi | How about it then, Tsuzuru-kun? Can you write a story about oni? |
Tsuzuru | I’m going for it, yes! |
