Practice Conversation 1[edit]
Guy | As I have mentioned before, The Kingdom of Zahra is an island nation, which has developed around a budding tourism industry. |
There are quite a few things about Zahra that differ from Japan, such as food, culture, and landscape. There are many things to look forward to.
In particular I am interested in introducing the Zahran people to Japanese culture and would like to perform alongside everyone else in our troupe.
It would be my honour to be able to show my people the wonders of Japan, and I would be happy to earn their praise.
And of course I am looking forward to touring everyone around to various places. |
Practice Conversation 2[edit]
Guy | Winter troupe performed an etude in the plaza today. We used the etude to introduce Japanese culture to the locals. It seemed like the Zahran people were quite interested in our performance. |
We also preformed an excerpt from our play, ‘Death by the Sword’. The audience seemed especially fascinated by Yukishiro’s feminine appearance in the play.
In addition, the crowd also seemed to have enjoyed Mikage’s ninja-like acrobatics performance.
We got a number of requests to perform in kimono so net time we should bring some with us. |
Practice Conversation 3[edit]
Guy | When I lived in Zahra, there was one place I fished at that I found walking throughout the city. |
It is a quiet place with a nice view. I have been eager to show you this place for a while, especially since it is one of my favourite places.
I am happy to be able to show you all of my favourite places and would hope that you, too, will like them.
Now as I think back to myself when I lived in Zahra, I would gaze out into the ocean as I fished. Back then, there was no way I could have imagined that just across the ocean I would meet so many new friends and join a theatre troupe.
To think that in this big world I would have run into Mankai Company... That I would have met you.... I could not think of anything that would make me happier.
And now here I am, working alongside my dear friends at Mankai, learning new things, cultivating my own skills, performing on stage, and enjoying my life.
Director, thank you so much, truly truly. I look forward to what the future may hold. |
Guy & Sakyo Talk[edit]
Guy | If I am not mistaken, you spent your free time today going to see a performance. |
Sakyo | Yea. I went with Tsukioka and Takato. I plan to talk more about it with the others tomorrow during our meeting. |
Guy | I see. What kind of play was it? I am interested to hear about it. And you know you can ask me anything. |
Tomorrow we have practice and we plan to do more cultural exchange. Then as for the evening, me and Citronia had a proposal. Can I tell you now?
Sakyo | Proposal? |
Guy | We were thinking about making a reservation at a restaurant in the city. It is the same one that Mika had reserved before when Spring and Winter troupes came to Zahra. |
Everyone seemed to like the food there, so we were wondering if it would be alright if we had dinner there again.
Sakyo | I see.... Well, guess it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. |
I think it could be a nice reward after everyone has had a long day of practice and exchanging with the locals.
Guy | I am glad you agree. By the way, the restaurant has quite a vast selection of sake. |
It is most likely that they have the sake that you said you liked from our regular package.
Sakyo | I see. I look forward to it. |
Guy | Yes. I am also looking forward to having drinks with everyone at that restaurant again. |
