Mini Conversations/Guy/Bridegroom Battle Royale

From A3! Wiki

Practice Conversation 1

GuyA Bridegroom Battle Royale, huh…
Just what type of challenges will appear?
I have knowledge on how to brew tea and how to serve, but I am still learning about housework, and there are also many things I do not know.
However, the Battle Royale’s grand prize is a washing machine. We were told by Sakyo-san that we must acquire it.
In order to clear as many challenges as possible, it seems necessary to prepare for a variety of different household chores.
It would be helpful if I could receive some advice from Director as well.
I’ll be depending on you.

Practice Conversation 2

GuyThe other day, I was in charge of washing the dishes after dinner, which also served as housework and bridegroom training for the Battle Royale.
I was washing the dishes together with Minagi at that time,
But I was astonished at how efficient, as well as brisk and quick he was.
If he had to say, it seems he is accustomed to completing a variety of chores quickly because he has many brothers.
However, it seems that after his younger brothers grew up, they helped with the dishwashing, laundry folding, and so forth.
So the Minagi brothers finished their housework by cooperating together, I see.
Minagi explains his tips for housework in a manner that is easy to understand. I must learn from him as well.

Practice Conversation 3

GuyI’ve tried doing a number of household chores for the Battle Royale…
But there are various tips and tricks to them after all, huh?
I have both insufficient experience and knowledge.
It appears I still have far from enough training to become an ideal bridegroom.
It seems I will become a good and faithful grouper and halibut?[1]
Do you mean I have an aptitude towards fish?
My apologies.
…You said, it seems I will become a good groom and husband?
…Thank you.
I’m very happy to be told that by Director.
It is an honour.
Still, I must endeavour in my training for housework and cooking.
And I will devote myself so I am able to make the dish that Director likes exceptionally deliciously one day.

Guy & Chikage Talk

ChikageGuy-san, are you practicing cooking?
GuyYes. One reason is that I will participate in the Bridegroom Battle Royale, but I am originally not very good at cooking so… I am training now.
Utsuki, you can cook, isn’t that right?
ChikageI wouldn’t say it’s my strong point, but I do what I can.
In my case, I like blending spices so I often make dishes using them.
GuyI see… It seems using your own special ingredients and making the food you like will help improve your cooking.
ChikageWell, that might be true.
By the way, Guy-san’s favourite food is—.
GuySquid shiokara[2].
In that case, should I start by going fishing for squid?
ChikageSquid fishing, huh… Well, Guy-san does like fishing after all, right?
GuyYes. In that sense, it might be perfect as well.
If I have an opportunity, I think I will try making shiokara from the squid that I caught myself.
Thank you for the good idea, Utsuki.
ChikageYou're welcome.

Notes

  1. Guy mishears as "カマボコ" (kamaboko: a type of fish paste/cake) and "サンマ" (sanma: saury), which he corrects as "花婿" (hanamuko: bridegroom) and "旦那" (danna: husband)
  2. Shiokara is salted, fermented fish entrails/guts.
