Taichi | "Captain, let's save Saku!" |
Juza | "It's too risky." |
Sakyo | "In the first place, he's being falsely accused. We should have enough time before he faces prosecution." |
Azami | "I seriously doubt they'll show mercy to the pirates. I mean, we're pirates, you know? If they search hard enough, they're bound to find evidence against us." |
Omi | "So you're saying we should just ignore him?" |
Juza | "All I'm saying is, we shouldn't be careless." |
Izumi | (Everyone has been getting more and more fired up. We're doing great.) |
| (And it looks like Banri-kun has already pretty much gotten used to balancing his role as both an actor and an assistant director…) |
| (In the first half, the story focuses on Banri-kun's character, Doug, the captain of space pirates ANIMS, as he confronts both the space police and the mysterious cult group FORTF.) |
| (It ends with him sending off Saku, the protagonist of the later half, after their encounter with the treasure hunters, STARS…) |
Masumi | It's about time to take a break. |
Izumi | Huh? You're right. Let's take a break for ten minutes. |
Itaru | Director, we received a call about the progress of the props… |
Izumi | (Because the Spring Troupe members, who only appear in the latter half, have been helping me with a lot of things, we’ve managed to make smooth progress in rehearsals…) |
| (Our plans for both the art and props have also been coming along nicely.) |
| |
Yuki | How is it? |
Izumi | You all look so great! |
Azami | I like this. It feels like we're in a sci-fi and fantasy movie. |
Taichi | It got me excited since each troupe has different vibes! |
Azuma | Wasn't it hard to make costumes for 24 people? |
Yuki | Well, yeah, but it was worth it. |
Kazunari | With this, we can update the main visual~. |
Omi | We need to prepare for the photoshoot soon. |
Izumi | Oh, that reminds me. Banri-kun, Sakuya-kun, you don't have any problems with your interview with "Spotlight" tomorrow, right? |
Sakuya | Yes! |
Banri | Not at all. |
Izumi | I'm grateful we've been getting featured on their news website every time we put on a new play. |
| And with our two-part MANKAI Show, Kasumi-san told me he's getting fully motivated to make another feature of us. |
| I'll forward the list of interview questions to you two once I get it. Make sure to check it, okay? |
Sakuya | Understood! |
Banri | … |
|
Photographer | Lean towards this side mo--yes, that's right! |
Kasumi | You look good~! I really like your angle! |
Photographer | Banri-kun, try moving around a bit. |
Kasumi | Banri-kun, you're so hot! |
| Sakuya-kun, nothing can beat your smile! That smile just now was the best out of all the photos we took today! |
Izumi | (Kasumi-san is getting way more excited than the photographer. But thanks to that, both of them managed to have good photos taken.) |
|
Kasumi | Next question is for Banri-kun. I know you're still in the middle of rehearsal now, but what is the highlight of the play? |
Banri | … |
| In the last scene of the first half, there's a line that I put my heart and soul into. That line also connects the first half with the latter half. Please pay attention to it. |
|
| *LIME notification sound* |
| Director-chan said she still has some business inside, so she told us not to wait for her. |
Sakuya | Let's go, then. |
| Hey, speaking of the interview earlier, you were referring to that line, right? |
Banri | Yea. |
| Doug is frustrated with Saku for not knowing his own reasons for staying onboard the ANIMS ship, nor his own purpose in life. |
| Then, when Saku makes a decision to go on a journey to find his own roots, the feeling of discontent between them disappears as Doug gives him the push to go forth… |
Sakuya | In that last scene, Doug, who is the protagonist of the first half, gives Saku a push and passes the baton to him. With that, Saku becomes the protagonist of the latter half. I really like that idea. |
Banri | I want to deliver my line in that highlight scene in a way that I can be satisfied with. |
| Still, I can't help but feel strange about that line where Doug is being harsh on Saku. |
Sakuya | Strange? |
Banri | …At Amabi, I joined a workshop led by Kabuto from Hyakka Troupe. |
| He asked me, "Why are you doing theater?" "Why does it have to be theater?" I couldn't find the exact answer to that. |
| And I still haven’t found it, even after trying a lot of things. |
| I just feel like I'm in no position to say such a line to Saku. |
| Doug, as the captain of ANIMS, respects life and death. He’s never had any doubts in his life. |
| Compared to me… |
Sakuya | So that's why you’ve continued to look for the answer in your own way. |
Banri | In the first place, I don't have anything I can call a turning point like you, Sakuya. Heck, I don't even have a starting point that can be my foothold. |
| (Sakuya has his memories of the art appreciation event, Tsumugi-san’s is his sense of accomplishment during his school play, and Hyodo has his whole "I've always wanted to be someone else" shtick.) |
| (When Kabuto told me, "A performance delivered by someone who has set his determination on it is strong," the first thing that came to my mind were those guys' faces.) |
| (In fact, those kinds of guys always get so into their roles no matter what once they get on stage. I'm also aware there's a moment when they're able to show off their 120% in a performance.) |
| I originally started theater because I wanted to fight Hyodo, anyway. Even if I were not in this industry, I'm sure I’d still compete with him. |
| I just went with the flow and started acting… |
| But I still remember the sensation I felt during our debut play. Not gonna lie, that moment was when I became more serious about acting than I’d ever been before. |
| After studying stage production, I once again hope I can continue with this job even in the future. |
| That's exactly why I'm absolutely going to find the answer--one that only I can come up with, one that can be my foothold to keep doing theater. |
| I have a feeling I can take the stage with more resolve once I find an answer that I can be satisfied with. |
Sakuya | …I hope you can find it before D-day. |
Banri | I'll absolutely find it. |
|
Student A | He's late as usual. |
Student B | He's 20 minutes late today. |
Student A | Or worse, he might be 30 minutes late. |
Student B | You're really extending it? |
Banri | (I feel kind of awkward now that I've started studying stage production, it's as if I'm copying what Kabuto-san does. But he might think I ran away if I didn’t join today's workshop.) |
| (Let's just make up an excuse if he asks…) |
Student A | Hey. This is bad news, isn't it? |
Student B | Seriously? |
Student A | H-Hey, Settsu! Look at this--. |
Banri | What's up? |
Student A | "An active Amabi student colluding with a criminal group!?" |
Banri | The heck is this… |
Student A | "The shocking past of an active Amabi student--the rising actor who appeared in Hiro Hyuga and Tenma Sumeragi's crime show!" |
| "Exclusive scoop: an active Amabi student caught on video getting into a brawl with a criminal group!" |
Student B | This actor is Settsu, right… |
Banri | --. |
