Kumon & Azami Talk

AzamiSo they’re even doing a Toshi no Ichi[1] here, huh. Rather, has it always been like this?
KumonNot only do they have sales, but they also have stalls! The name too, it became a festival instead of a market.
Ah, Azami, look! They’re doing Hanetsuki[2]!
“Hagoita Game”...is what’s written.
AzamiHuh… There’re stalls like this too?
KumonDepending on how many times you can hit the shuttlecock, you'll be receiving a somewhat fancy prize! What do they mean by a fancy prize? Could it be a trip!?
AzamiIs there even a prize like that for festival stalls…?
KumonI dunno! Maybe we can win it! And then we can go together!
Hey hey, Azami! Let’s try it!
Azami...Well, I guess it’s fine to do something like this once in a while. Since I’m doing it, I’ll make sure to win.
KumonAlright! On to the match!
  1. Toshi no Ichi are Year End markets.
  2. Hanetsuki is a Japanese traditional game often played during New Year. It is similar to badminton without a net as you hit the hane(shuttlecock) with a hagoita(wooden paddle).
