Sakyo …At last, it’s time for Winter Troupe. Izumi It makes me a little emotional. Banri You just barely had enough people do the Autumn Troupe audition; is it always like that? Izumi Yup. Besides the two people that I already scouted, it’s always just 2 or 3 other people that come. Omi Where are the people that you scouted this time? Izumi Umm, well… I couldn’t think of anyone, so I’m a bit worried whether we’ll gather enough people this time… Omi We have a fixed fanbase now and we’ve gotten more popular since the Spring Troupe play, so we should be okay. Izumi You think so? Taichi We even handed out flyers to announce the audition. It’s gonna be fine! Izumi You’re right! Quiet Young Man Excuse me. Long-Haired Man Excuse me. Izumi Here they come! Juza Hey you. You an applicant? Quiet Young Man Y-yeah. Banri If you start acting as the receptionist, our precious applicants are all gonna go home! Juza I don’t wanna hear that from you. Sakyo Step back. I’ll handle this. Taichi Er, you should also step back, Sakyo-nii. Long-Haired Man So, what should we do? Banri Oh? Aren’t you the guy from before? Long-Haired Man Yeah. You remembered me. Juza Thanks for before. Long-Haired Man You’re welcome. Izumi Do you two know him? Banri He helped us out a little bit a while ago. Izumi I see. Long-Haired Man I became interested in this theater group when I watched the final performance. I thought I should give the audition a try. Izumi Do you have any experience in theater? Long-Haired Man None at all. Izumi If you enter our theater group, we’ll have practices while you also have work. Would you be okay with that? Sakyo It’s gonna be tough if you often do overtime, or if you have work during holidays. Long-Haired Man That should be no problem. I’m on temporary leave from work right now anyway. Izumi (He certainly doesn’t seem like a salaryman. He has fair skin, and you can’t guess his age or his sex just by looking at him.) What kind of work did you used to do? Long-Haired Man I was a sleeping partner. Izumi Sleeping partner!? Banri Ohh, is that like a night job? Taichi A-an adult… Omi Maybe it’s the name of a shop? A café called “Sleeping Partner” or something like that. Sakyo That’s just even more suspicious. Long-Haired Man It’s nothing like an indecent job that you’re all imagining. It’s a wholesome job where I simply accompany people in bed and listen to their problems and worries. Izumi I-I see. (Wholesome!? But, I guess it’s kind of similar to being a counselor…) Juza So that’s why you were walking with a rich-looking woman that time. Long-Haired Man Ah, that’s right. I was on the job that time. Banri So, how about you over there? Do you have experience in theater? Quiet Young Man Huh? Me? Izumi Have you ever studied theater before? Quiet Young Man Well, you could say that… Speaking of experience, I do have experience… but I haven’t been in a theater group like this before. I’ve only done amateur level theater at school, plus I took a break from acting for a while, so I don’t mind if you treat me as a novice. Izumi (He’s very modest, or perhaps I should say reserved. I guess I won’t know the real extent of his ability until I see it.)
