Episode 8: Improving Hisoka’s Daily Life

Izumi Hmm... (I wonder what I should do to improve the Winter Troupe’s awkward atmosphere. Should I get them to open up a little bit?) (Everyone’s an adult; they have a different energy compared to students so it’s pretty hard...) Tasuku ...Now that you mention it, you’re right. Homare The person himself does not seem to be bothered by it though. Tsumugi Even so, he can’t keep going like this forever. Azuma We should gather the bare minimum necessities, at least. Izumi (Somehow everyone is all gathered together?) Is something wrong? Homare Well, it worries me that there is nothing in Hisoka’s room. Azuma It’s almost been a week since we started living in the dorm, and yet apparently he’s been sleeping without a futon. Izumi (Now that you mention it, Hisoka-san is penniless...!) M-manager, don’t you have any furniture and stuff? Manager Huh!? Furniture for the dorms? It’s not that we don’t have any, but... They have holes, and they’re discoloured... Azuma That would be just sad. Homare’s room looks elegant and even has a brick wall. Izumi Brick!? Homare Fufun, I made all the arrangements with the construction company. Manager You just did as you pleased! Izumi I thought I heard some noises but was that the construction!? Homare Finishing it in one day was no easy task. Azuma Well, Hisoka’s room doesn’t have to be furnished to that extent, but we should at least prepare a futon for him. Hisoka ...I don’t need one. Manager A new futon, huh... If I sell my organs to the yakuza who has a tight hold on my wallet strings, I might be able to do something... Izumi There’s no way you’d have to go that far...! Azuma Don’t worry about the money. I can pitch in about that much. Homare I can also assist. The room is small so the remodelling did not cost that much. Manager Really!? Then how about a new TV for my room... Izumi You’re too shameless! Tsumugi It’s going to be used right away anyway, so it’s better if we buy it soon. Izumi Ah! It’s our day off, so why don’t we all go shopping right now! (It’s a good opportunity to deepen everyone’s friendships!) Azuma We’re going to bring stuff home, so we should go with a car. Manager Our theatre company does have a car, but it can’t fit six people... Tasuku Is it a light car? Manager It’s a wheelbarrow. Izumi That kind of car!? (Itaru-san has a car, but he said he’s playing endurance games with Banri-kun all day today, so I can’t get close to his room...) Tasku ...*sigh*. My wagon can fit six people. I’ll let you borrow it, so go shop by yourselves. Izumi Huh!? (I thought we could go with everyone too...) But I’m not used to a wagon, so my spatial awareness will be... I’m sorry if I scratch the bumper. Tasuku ——The Director is rejected. Tsumugi, you have a license right? Tsumugi I... haven’t driven since third year of university when we went to that training camp... Tasuku That was the last time!? Who else can drive——? Azuma I have a license but I’ve almost never driven myself. Homare I have a license for flower arranging. Tasuku Hah... I guess I have to. Izumi You’d drive for us? Tasuku There’s no one else, so I don’t have a choice. Izumi Thank you very much! Hisoka ...Zzz. Homare The crucial person himself is asleep though. Izumi Hisoka-san, wake up! Tasuku It’s about 20 minutes from here, huh... Azuma This street is packed, so we should do a detour. Tasuku You’re familiar with this. Azuma I’ve been in the passenger seat many times. Leave the navigation to me. Tasuku I’ll leave it to you. Izumi (I hope this can help everyone become closer, even just a little.) Tsumugi First is a futon... Azuma He needs a dresser too. Tasuku The dresser section is over there. Homare Ohh, this looks good. Choose this one, Hisoka-kun. Izumi (It’s a very elegant and gaudy rococo style dresser...) Hisoka ... Tsumugi H-hmm, I wonder... Isn’t it too big for that small room? Azuma I think this one looks good. Izumi (It’s a massive paulownia wood dresser that looks like it could be dowry...!) Hisoka ... Izumi T-this one might also be a little too big! Tsumugi How about something around this size? Izumi Oh, a natural wooden one looks good. It’s calming. Tasuku He’s not a girl, so wouldn’t something like this one be better? Izumi A steel dresser looks a little rustic, but it looks American and cool. Azuma Everyone’s preferences are showing. Hisoka ... Homare Which will it be, Hisoka-kun? Choose the one that you like. Hisoka ...Zzz. Izumi Choose before you sleep! Hisoka ...Then, this one. Izumi This one? Azuma A simple monotone dresser. It does feel very Hisoka-like. Tasuku Let’s go with this one then. Homare Next we must get... Azuma Wouldn’t it be better if he has a desk too? Tsumugi Then, we should head over that way. Izumi It’s gotten completely dark. Azuma You just end up spending lots of time without realizing when you look around for various things. Tsumugi But I’m glad that we gathered stuff without any problems. Homare They are not to my tastes, however. That Othello-like room will turn my eyes black and white. Izumi Because it’s all monotone? Tasuku Is that a dad joke. Azuma Fufu. Homare Hm, do not misunderstand. This is a type of play on words that poets are fond of. Izumi (Is that so...!? But no matter how you look at it, that was a pun...) Hisoka ...Stop the car. Tasuku Hm? Hisoka ...Stop the car, please. Tasuku What the heck? Hisoka ... Tsumugi Is something wrong? Izumi (He’s just staring out the window. I wonder what’s out there...) Hisoka-san, do you want to get off? Hisoka ...Yeah. Homare The ocean on a winter night. It is a setting that tantalizes my poetic inspiration. Hisoka ... Izumi (It looks like Hisoka-san is in deep thought...) ...Did you remember something? Hisoka ...I was drifted ashore here. I think. Izumi What!? Tsumugi You were drifted ashore to the beach...? Tasuku Does that mean you were drifting about on the sea? Azuma It wasn’t very calm, I assume. Homare I’ve got it! You were a diving instructor. Tasuku An instructor wouldn’t be in the ocean in that outfit. Azuma Then, he’s just a man of the sea...? Tasuku How is he “just” a man of the sea? What’s a man of the sea in the first place? Tsumugi Or maybe, he’s something like a stowaway. Izumi Stowaway!? Hisoka ...I don’t know. Izumi I see... But this means that when the chance arises, there’s a possibility that you get your memories back. Azuma That’s right. It’s good if you remember bit by bit from here on out. Hisoka ... Izumi (I hope Hisoka-san gets his memories back soon...)
