Izumi Good morning! Let’s work hard today too! Sakuya Good morning! Tsuzuru Mornin’. Masumi ....Zz. Izumi Today we’re going to try and collect new members. Sakuya Is three too few? Izumi The Original Spring Troupe had five members; we need at least that many people, or else our script will be limited. So we need two more. Tsuzuru True—you can’t build much of a story with just a main character, their partner, and one side character. Izumi Right? That’s why I’m thinking we need five members for the main cast, and when we need more, we can ask people from other troupes to star as guest members. Let’s gather new troupe members through a street act, the same way we got Tsuzuru-kun and Masumi-kun! Sakuya Yes! Tsuzuru All righty. Masumi ....Zz. Izumi It’s time to wake up, Masumi-kun! Tsuzuru But is a street act by a bunch of beginners enough? Izumi That’s the problem here... Oh, right, Tsuzuru-kun, you agreed to join this troupe because we provided housing, right? Tsuzuru Yeah. I wanted to live on my own, and it costs too much to commute to Veludo Way from home. Izumi Then I guess we should look for people like Tsuzuru-kun? Tsuzuru When you say people like me, you mean... Masumi People who seem homeless? Tsuzuru Is that what I look like... Sakuya N-not at all! Maybe we should look for people like Masumi-kun, too! Masumi You only need one of me. Izumi I think Masumi-kun is the only one of his kind. So our target is homeless people... Well then, let’s make our street act friendly and appealing to homeless people. Tsuzuru Can you please stop repeating homeless. Tsuzuru Thanks to MANKAI Company, I now have a home! Sakuya Now we can eat a warm meal every day, bro! Masumi We won’t have to live in the doghouse anymore. Passerby A What is that~? Passerby B They’re such daikons it’s hilarious. Everyone’s showing off too much skin; you’re all shameless. Izumi You came from another country? Are you sight-seeing? ??? I’m studying abroad. This is the Mecca of theatre; I was interested. Izumi You’re interested in theatre? Have you decided on a place to stay already? ??? Not yet. Izumi (Which means he’s a potential new troupe member....! If you look closely, he has good-looking features behind his mask; he’ll probably stand out on stage.) Then consider joining MANKAI Company! We provide rooms, so you won’t have to worry about finding a place to live, and you’ll also get to study theatre. Tsuzuru Director, are you out of your mind? Izumi He’s of a different character than the three of you, and he makes an impact. He’ll build a world just by standing on stage; it’s rare to find someone like that. Tsuzuru What about his lines. Will he be okay? ??? I’ll be okay. Tsuzuru He’s not okay at all. ??? It’ll be okay, it’ll be okay. I’ll join MANZAI Company. Izumi You mean MANKAI Company. Masumi You’re going to flirt with foreigners too? Your strike-zone is too wide. Izumi Don’t say it like that! Citron I’m Citron. Let’s get along. Sakuya Yes, please take care of me! Tsuzuru Are we really going to be okay... Izumi The sun is going to set. I guess that’s it for today. Sakuya I can keep going! Tsuzuru I think people are just gonna ignore us if we keep blindly working away like this. Citron They say: when in a hurry, spin around! I’m going to try spinning him. Sakuya Pl-please stop, Citron-san! I’m going to get all dizzy! Izumi The saying goes, when in a hurry, take the long way round. And it means going around, not spinning around. Citron Oh, a mistake. Sakuya Please stop spinning me while you talk! Izumi Tsuzuru-kun, how did you look for a troupe that provided housing? Tsuzuru There are advertisements for theatre troupes and information on dorming and shared-housing on the billboard in front of the train station right there, so I checked that out... ??? .... Izumi (Ah, there’s someone in front of the billboard right now.) Sakuya Uu, my eyes are spinning and my legs are shaking... ??? Ow—. Sakuya —I-I’m sorry! I was all dizzy....! Izumi I’m sorry, are you all right? ??? Y-yes. Citron Sorry. Sakuya’s mistake is my mistake. ??? Please don’t worry about it. Izumi (This person was looking at housing information... could it be.)
