There are a few different types of stories in A3!. This page contains the Main Story. The other types of stories have their own pages:
- Event Stories — Stories related to Events, which are set after the Main Story.
- Backstage Stories — Stories associated with cards, unlocked by raising a card's affection.
- Mini Conversations — Short dialogue dialogues which can be unlocked by completing Mission 3 of a Practice Mission.
Part 1 of the Main Story is unlocked by ranking up. All stories are unlocked when the player reaches Rank 55.

- Act 2 - Unlocked at Rank 15 / Fully unlocked at Rank 29
- Act 3 - Unlocked at Rank 30 / Fully unlocked at Rank 44

The story is continued in the 2017 Event Stories.
Part 2 of the Main Story can be unlocked from Rank 55 by accumulating Rank EXP. Rank EXP can be earned through doing practices and participating in the relevant Campaign Events. Each Act requires 32750 Rank EXP to unlock fully.

The story is continued in the 2018 Event Stories.
On April 29, 2020 (18:00 JST) a countdown website was opened that lasted for 48 hours and would count down to the opening of a Part 3 teaser website. The countdown page is still accessible and the archive shows the different images (play posters and CG's) that were viewable during the countdown.
On May 1, 2020 (18:00 JST) a teaser website with the name "A3! ACT3! 1/2 “EVER LASTING”" was opened. It contained written notes/letters and new images. Translations of the letters can be read here.
On May 3, 2020 (18:00 JST) a trailer for the new main story was released on both Twitter and Youtube.
