Izumi (The play begins with Michael, Tsumugi-san’s character, gazing down on earth...) Raphael “Foolish Michael.” Michael “Raphael, you’re worried about me, aren’t you?” Raphael “Falling in love with a human will only bring you misfortune. I know that well.” Michael “That’s fine with me. Even if it makes me miserable, I want to make her happy.” Izumi (The two of them have raised the bar considerably higher than during practice. Michael’s gaze really resembles the eyes of a human that’s in love.) Metatron “You wish to save a female human?” “Hmm. The strait-laced Michael harbors some surprisingly bold thoughts. In that case, you can descend to the human world.” Michael “I can descend to the human world?” Metatron “Yes you can. However, if you stay in the human world for too long, you will become unable to return to heaven. You must be careful.” Michael “Thank you, Metatron.” Izumi (This is Homare-san’s first time on stage, and yet he doesn’t look nervous at all. What a good performance!) Uriel “The day when her soul departs for heaven is already decided. Don’t waste your time interfering.” Michael “That list is just a prediction. It’s not set in stone.” Uriel “Even so, it’s not something you can twist around at your own discretion. If you’re going to let personal feelings get in the way, you’ll be brought before the council of heavenly laws.” Michael “I don’t intend on interfering. I simply want to watch over her.” Uriel “Well then. Even if you descend to earth, can you promise that you will not meet with her?” Michael “Okay. I promise.” Izumi (There are no problems with Hisoka-san either. He’s gotten good; it’s as if he’s getting influenced by Tsumugi-san’s acting.) Phillip “You there. Unauthorized people aren’t allowed here.” Michael “Oh, I’m sorry.” Phillip “What business do you have with her?” Michael “You are...?” Phillip “I’m her attending physician.” Michael “I have something to tell her... But I can’t meet with her directly.” Phillip “What a strange situation. Well, how about you write her a letter?” Michael “A letter... That’s right! I will do that!” Izumi (The interaction between Michael and Phillip after Michael descends to the human world... Azuma-san is performing as usual.) (His unique aura comes into play in the switchover between the human world and heaven.) Raphael “How’s life down there on earth, Michael?” Michael “Raphael! Look, she wrote me a letter in reply!” Raphael “I can’t read the contents of that letter from up here, you know.” Michael “Oh, that’s right. I’ll read it to you then.” Raphael “Looks like you’re fully enjoying yourself. But you do remember that I told you not to fall in love with a human, right?” Michael “I know that. This is different. It’s just that, I want to do something for her sake. That’s all there is to it.” Izumi (Raphael’s worry for Michael is being conveyed through a restrained performance...) Phillip “Here’s a letter from her. Forgive me, but I can’t deliver any more letters. I’m sorry. If you read this letter then you will know the reason why.” Izumi (Michael’s unrequited love...) Raphael “She’s already discharged, isn’t she? She even has a fiancé now. She seems plenty happy to me.” “There’s no need for you to stay in the human world, Michael.” Michael “But her name is still on the list. I want to watch over her until the end.” Raphael “If you just want to watch over her, then you can do so from heaven. If you stay in the human world any longer, you won’t be able to return here!” Michael “Even so, I want to stay by her side, Raphael.” Raphael “Suit yourself, idiot!” Izumi (Michael is quickly losing his wings. The feathers that Yuki-kun made are actually falling to the ground, so it looks realistic.) (Just as Raphael got angry about and feared, Michael loses his wings as well his life for the sake of the woman he loves...) Raphael “I warned you. You’re such a fool, Michael.” Michael “You came for me, Raphael?” Raphael “That’s right. I’m carrying your soul.” Michael “Did her name disappear from the list?” Raphael “Yeah, it did. You’re an absolute fool.” Michael “Please stop calling me a fool. Thank you, Raphael. You went through all that trouble.” Raphael “If only you had listened to my warning, then things wouldn’t have come to this.” Michael “I wasn’t miserable.” Raphael “You can’t return to being an angel. Your existence itself is going to disappear, you know?” Michael “Even so, I was able to protect my first love, and you, my good friend, are seeing my soul off. I’m happy.” Raphael “Michael, you big fool.” Izumi (Raphael’s profound grief that makes your chest hurt, and Michael’s affection... They’re both being conveyed through a quiet performance.) Raphael “Michael, I take it back when I said that you were a fool. You are admirable for protecting the person you loved. Unlike me.” “But even still, falling in love with a human will never bring happiness. I lost not only the person I loved, but also my good friend. Right, Michael?” Izumi (Raphael’s soliloquy in the final scene... Michael has a faint smile on his face as his figure fades...) Audience A ...Oh no, I cried. Audience B It’s completely different from their other ones so far. It felt like a surprise attack. Audience A But it was really good! Audience B It was! Izumi (It’s well-received by our old fans too. I’m glad.) (It’s the most perfected play out of all the ones we’ve done so far. It’s off to a great start!) Tsumugi —— Azuma That’s a really loud applause. Hisoka ...It’s not quieting down at all. Homare It is a huge success! Tsumugi Everyone performed so much better than during practice. Homare Indeed, it felt completely different from the usual even though it is the same play. How strange. Azuma So this is what a sense of unity feels like... Tasuku Let’s keep this up until the end. Tsumugi ——Yeah. Let’s go to the curtain call!
